No one writes an MC book quite like Bella does, this beautifully written story took my breath away.
Melancholy is book 2 in the Jokers Wrath series it's been a while since I'd read Precarious ( book 1 ) so I was a little worried that I'd be lost reading this book but it reads as a stand alone story with the characters from book 1.
Melancholy follows Santana and Maddox and their passionate relationship. Through dual POV from the past we find out exactly how Santana came to be in Maddox's care. After many years of believing her only remaining relative is dead Santana discovers the truth, that the only person she trusts has lied to her. Can Santana forgive him for the sake of her sister ?
I loved this book, it's been a while since I'd read any of Bella's books, I'd forgotten just how good her books are, you can't go wrong with her books. You are transported to a world of violence, hot sex, hot biker men and a great story !
MC book at its best !!!

I have to sat I loved this series and can't wait for more from the Jokers Wrath
I wasn't really looking forward to Maddox he scared me in the first book but I loved Santana and the way she stepped up to help Ash without being asked she is strong and sweet and what she goes through in this story is terrible no woman or child should, her story with Maddox is one of loyalty and thanks but what she doesn't see is love from the man who saved her life she thinks he is being protective and domineering and annoying, the secret he holds he gets caught out and things gets wilde wnd crazy
Brilliant and full of surprises 5 stars worth every one

This is one of those books where five stars just isn't enough. Filled with a little bit of everything I loved it. We finally get Santana's background and how she came to be with Maddox and why their relationships like it is. I loved Santana's attitude, loved how she could get under Maddox's skin. Maddox has been keeping a pretty big secret though and knows if she finds it out that he'll lose her, even though he did it for her. I loved Maddox, he's a great big sexy hot alpha with a heart and I just loved his character. This series just gets better and better and I can't wait for Mack's book.

"Melancholy" is the second book in the Jokers' Wrath series and it is Bella Jewel at her best.

This book had me gasping for air - like a fish out of water. It's packed with so much emotion, intensity and drama, that I feared for my sanity. I couldn't put it down.
Bella Jewel has an incredible talent to combine suspense, romance, drama, sensuality and steaminess. It is never too much, but dosed perfectly.
This story is no different.

It was intense and emotionally raw and the characters played a big part in it. We've met Maddox and Santana briefly in "Precarious" and it was obvious, that there is a lot going on between them and many emotions are brewing under the surface. Well, now those emotions came to light in "Melancholy".

Santana, who has had a tough and heart-breaking past has been saved by Maddox and his Jokers' Wrath MC. She's a young woman who had her childhood and youth stolen by the circumstances that life has put her in. On one hand she's older than her years, on the other she tends to come across as a brat. Despite that sometimes irrational and irresponsible behavior, she's a very likeable character and one her background is explained, it is easy to understand, why she acts the way she does. Considering she never got the chance to grow up in a safe and secure surrounding, she now tries to find herself and figure out what and who she wants in life. That isn't an easy feat, as she shares a deep and special bond with Maddox who tends to be controlling and overbearing when it comes to her. No matter how much she tries to fight it, she can't hide the feelings she has for him - feelings she fears aren't reciprocated.
But some things are too strong to fight and she ends up opening her heart to him.

The thing I love most about Bella Jewel's books is that I never know what to expect. They always have an element that manages to take me completely by surprise and Melancholy had just that. Melancholy had me captivated from the very start and I loved every second of it.

We first met Santana and Maddox in Precarious and you could see the sparks flying even then. They have a history and are battling their own demons. You get a glimpse into Santana's life before being involved into the MC club, and from this we got to see the heartache that she has been through and why she is the way that she is. We also see Maddox's side of the story too, what is it about Santana that he can't seem to get out of his head and why he treats her the way he does.

Santana thinks that she doesn't want to be part of a biker’s life, and in many ways is trying to separate herself from it. She tries to build her own life away from the club, but even though she tries, Maddox isn’t letting her go without a fight. Although he wants Santana, he is reluctant to let her know this. There’s something about her that he can resist, yet underneath it all, he harbours secrets that could destroy any kind of relationship with her. How will she react when the truth is revealed? Will this betrayal be too much for her?

I loved these two as a couple and even amidst all the jabs at each other and acts of defiance, you could see their walls slowly ebb away as they both give in to the temptation. This book isn’t all plain sailing as there is drama and secrets around every corner, giving into the angst, tears, laughter and romance that we all crave.
