Excellent for polishing plastics

I have a bit of a penchant for 80's and 90's handheld gaming systems and bought this product to remove very light scratching from the screens. I have so far polished an Atari lynx - did a great job on the screen and worked so well I ended up polishing the buttons and all the shiny parts on the body. It did a wonderful job. I've also used it to thoroughly clean 2 NEC PC Engine GT's again with wonderful results. I am an avid car valeter and I would say that this product is very similar to a polishing compound or headlight polishing kit. It is very very gentle. Probably more gentle than a polishing compound if we got down to the chemical/abrasiveness of the product. It almost feels like using a moisturiser. Great for cleaning phone screens too. Or removing scuffs from phone backs or cases. I'd suggest it could also be used to clean watches. I plan to polish my car's clocks, dash, stalks etc. It's just an all round great plastic polish from a trusted manufacturer - apologies if my review isn't specifically regarding car valeting - trust me when I say it is great for all plastics.

Magic stuff for removing anti-glare coating on car screen!

I used this to clean the screen of my Audi MMI and remove the anti glare coating which the previous owner had managed to ruin - leaving the screen looking terrible. Thanks to some guy on YouTube he said buy this stuff and rub it on the screen. It completely refurbished the screen so it looks brand new! It actually says on the guidance not to use on LCD screens but I guess that because it would remove any anti-glare coating, but if its looking terrible then you most certainly do want it removed. I have to say the screen looks miles better without it!

This is one of those products that's only as good as the effort you're willing to put in. If you have cloudy headlights, and think a quick wipe with PlastX will make them look new again, you need to think again. However, if you have a machine polisher (or drill with mop attachment), and are willing to dedicate some time (at least 30 minutes per headlight), you'll be very pleased with the results. In summary, a good product, but needs you to put the effort in to realise a good result.

it worked really well on some 12 year old headlamps using a Black & Decker Mouse sander with a microfibre cloth. wiped the headlamp with a wet cloth to get rid of any dirt. poured on the polish liberally and smeared over the headlamp. Then polished using the cloth and sander to take some of the effort out. Moved the sander in all directions, across the lense, up and down, circles etc... making sure to polish evenly across the lense. The cream creates a smear and haze which you need to polish through, the clear perspex finally being revealed after about 5 - 7 minutes. You can see the before and after results in the images below. The lense initially looked hazy white which the camera does not pick up. I'm impressed with how good they have turned out and remained clear since doing this.

Promoted for use on cloudy headlights, but I had some rather scratched-up tail lights on a new (6 month old) car; been there from new and heavy swirling on the the shiny black plastic on the door pillars.

Watched youtube, as you do, specifically for correcting the black plastic with Megs 205. Thought i'd give this a go as it is apparently milder. By hand it gave a decent improvement on the tail lights (swirling much better, larger scratches remain), but minimal change on the black trim. Then used DA while polishing the rest of the car (Megs 205). Followed up with Menzerna 3800 then Collinite 476 wax and brought the tail lights up to being fully transparent from all angles and the black trim to "90%". NB i didn't over-work any product on the black trim given i was using an over-sized pad and didn't want to do lasting harm to the lacquer or plastic itself.

Is this better than '205 (or 105 then 205) - I can't say. Did the combination I used give me the results I was looking for - absolutely.

As with pretty much all Meguiars products, not cheap (though comparable products in similar bracket) but do the job they say and given how little you use, the cost per job is fine.

Works really well , used it on a old van instrument cluster lens with lots of scratches, some fairly deep to test it out before I let it loose on my bmw. It got all the scratches out & looks great now but don’t just expect to wipe it over what ever you’re polishing & the scratches will go , you have to put some elbow grease into it to get the results you desire , make sure the microfibre clothes you use are clean so you don’t make new scratches.

This product is amazing! I was very sceptical if this would work for my instrument cluster in my car which had quite deep visible scratches on it. But after using it for about 20 minutes, it removed the surface of visible scratches and now not obvious at all. I know, if you look at it closely you can still see it but it is not as visible as before. I am absolutely satisfied the way it looks now. Whereas before, everytime drive my car, it annoyed me so much. If you have small scratches, I would imagine it would completely remove it.
