The downside is the way that it transfers onto *everything* and *everywhere*. I tested it by kissing my husband passionately(!) and it slid all over his face. It coated the rim of my tea mug too and I was concerned about it staining my clothes.
It's OK for the price, but I'd prefer a more buttery than this rather oily consistency.
Now it does not last all day and to truthfully I would not expect it to mainly because of the budget price. If you want a long lasting balm I would point you towards the more expensive brands, but one thing I do like about this particularly brand is I can have so many more colours with being a few of these compared to one of the expensive balms.
I would happily apply these a few times a day with the added advantage of the light colour which this adds to the lip area. I also love the pointed tip which allows me to produce the perfect cupid's bow when applying.
I am happy to recommend this first class product as it is a great lip balm which I like to apply daily and throughout the day.
The texture is super buttery and has excellent 'slip', some might describe it as greasy, but what you get is full coverage with a slight gloss to your lips with a single swipe. You do not need to rub or press hard to transfer the colour from the stick to your lips and it feels pleasant on the lips.
The 'glossiness' doesn't have terribly long longevity, and the colour is incredibly intense, but I liked blotting off the gloss and leaving a soft pop of colour on the lips which does have excellent lasting power- my toddler decided to copy mummy and got some on her cheeks which took mummy's oil based cleanser 2 attempts to remove!
The colour A stiff pink (cue childish giggles) is a cool blue-toned super-bright pink bordering on neon, it is super bright on first application, perhaps a little bright for me personally but a little blot gives a softer pop of pink on the lips which I found much more flattering on my super-pale cool toned skin.
Overall these are definitely worth it, in fact the formulation is better than some of its more expensive competitors, I am definitely looking at the other colours in the range to add to my collection.
“This leaves your lips silky soft and faintly stained, which is good as you seem to have something left there when the first coating has worn off. It did not stay put as long as I would have liked, but that's the price you pay for a good colour. I like the fact it is pointed so you can get into the corners of your mouth easily, and you can easily turn the silver part at the end when it starts getting too short.
It is not a strong colour, so don't buy it if you want a dramatic change, it is subtle and that's the way I like it.
It comes off fairly easily but one downside is that it actually seemed to dry my lips out, strange I know. I found myself licking my lips quite often as they felt dry and uncomfortable. At first I tried putting more on but they seemed to get drier and drier, so I have started to add a moisturizer after I put on the Balm Stain and that seems to work.
Overall, good value, but beware - the cap comes off fairly easily, even though you hear a click as you put it on, but somehow it comes off. I have put it in a little separate bag in my handbag.”

the colour is not very strong and it doesn't last very long, but it is pleasant to use and is nicely presentedPublished 11 days ago by Beehai
Love the design it looks like a giant crayon.
Very slippery to apply but very moisturising. Easy to smudge though so a steady hand is essential. Read more

I prefer the crayon style lip stains/balms/ lipsticks to the standard lipstick. This balm stain has the best of both worlds - a moisturising lip balm with colour that lasts. Read morePublished 6 months ago by I. Clarke
This is a lovely crayon-type lipstick ... it's called a 'balm stain' but for all intents and purposes it's a lipstick! I love the colour - a lovely vibrant pink. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Youdontownme
Very nice pink lip balm, it does definitely stain and last a while and it doesn't have to be caked on to give a beautiful shade. Read morePublished 6 months ago by GratuitousViolets
