ARC kindly provided by author in exchange for a honest review.
3* read.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about this book. I love forbidden romances and stepbrothers are one of my favorite forbidden story but this one I just couldn't really connect with. It started out so slow but yet seemed rushed as well so I couldn't connect with the characters at all till towards the end where I did start to get more of a connection. Like I say its a hard review for me because it is a short story and part of a series but it just didn't connect with me and was only in the last couple of chapters where I thought hmm this is getting slightly better and then it just ended and your left waiting for the next part. I will be reading the next installment to see where it goes and I hope I can connect with the characters more then to and I am intrigued to see where their relationship goes too.

HASH(0x9d5bc2d0) out of 5 stars Step up from what was expected 7 July 2015
By Mrs. Teresa W. Jeacocke - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Meeting the Step. Hmmm let me think. This book wasn't what I expected, it was so much more then the title proposes and what my naughty mind assumed.
Max is a college student that has returned home to find he is getting a step mother and sister. He doesn't want them. He doesn't need them. Not now. Not ever.
Chelsea is a college student that is having issues with her mother. She doesn't want a step father or brother. She doesn't want them. She doesn't need them. Not now. Not ever.
And then they meet. Holy moly this book is so hot it should come with a fire extinguisher. Luckily it's a series so the fires are smaller but still it is hot hot hot.
Definitely worth picking up.

HASH(0x9c181600) out of 5 stars I loved the synopsis of Meeting the Step 8 July 2015

I was provided an ARC for my honest review.

With all of the step brother romances that are out right now, I was hoping to find one that stood out above the rest. I loved the synopsis of Meeting the Step, the story of Max and Chelsea drew my attention. I did enjoy this story, I liked, but didn't love. I was able to read it all in one sitting, as it did keep my interest. Toward the middle of the book it felt really rushed, and it ended in a cliffy. I will be reading book #2, I want to know what happens when the parents find out!

HASH(0x9c93fb34) out of 5 stars Good, quick readK 8 July 2015

3.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

This was a good quick read that leaves you wanting more. It started a bit slow for me and I really didn't connect with the characters until about 3/4 of the way through. Once things started up between Chelsea and Max, I was intrigued. I am interested in reading the next installment to see where their story leads.
HASH(0x9bf00408) out of 5 stars Missing A Step 9 Jan. 2016

This is book one in a series and it's a quick read, I read it while waiting for my dinner to cook.

Max is 23, almost graduated and counting down the days to move to New York where his mum lives since her recent divorce with his dad, Gerald.

Chelsea is 22 and has the pleasure of being the daughter of a mum, Sandra, who is planning on marrying Gerald.

Gerald has been cheating on his wife with Sandra for two years, so I instantly hate him. He also waited til Max went away to move her in. I hate him even more. Idiot
(Yeah I know, it's fiction, but still.)
"You don't have to accept this. We, Sandra and I, are going to happen whether you or Chelsea like it or not. I'd much prefer your good graces and acceptance nut considering the divorce was finalized a little over a month ago, I understand"

So obviously Chelsea and Max meet, there is instant attraction. They kiss as it says in the blurb, but how far do they go??? I won't spill! But Chelsea has a boyfriend, so how far can they really go before their parents are married and they become siblings? Im sure all that will be told in book two, but to be honest I don't think I'll be reading it. In a sea of step brother romances out there right now this just didn't stand out for me, and I feel like I already know exactly what is going to happen next.

That said, if step brother romances are your genre of choice and you're after a quick read then this could be exactly the book for you! And I gotta give credit to how it was written, something about it, was just exactly how I wanted a story written.
"I could feel the beat in my neck. I tried to play it cool and not let my emotions get the best of me, but I pleaded with my eyes. 'please'. I practically begged without speaking a word and I think he got the hint."

HASH(0x9bc595c4) out of 5 stars Good Short Novella 8 July 2015
By Brittany's Book Blog - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Something about these step sibling novels always intrigue me. I like the whole forbidden aspect of it and how they feel like they can't be together because their parents are together. I know it doesn't sound right nor do people think it's right for step siblings to get together. But in reality, they aren't anything to each other, so why can't they be together right!

Max knows his parents haven't gotten along with each other for a long time and is just waiting for them to drop the bomb that they're getting divorced so when it does happen, he's not surprised at all. He figured it was just a matter of time before it happened and he's okay with it. But what Max doesn't see coming is that his dad already has someone else when he gets back from NY after visiting his mother and he's not happy about the news he receives.

Chelsea is not a very happy camper knowing that her mother is getting married. She loved their happy little life just her and her mother. But when Max's dad comes in the picture it makes Chelsea a little bit more rebellious.

Max and Chelsea finally meet and Max instantly feels a surge of desire for this girl. He's never felt that before and he feels like he wants to protect her when he sees that's she's being manhandled by her boyfriend. Max comes to the rescue and defends Chelsea from the alcoholic boyfriend and abusive boyfriend that she has. From that moment, Chelsea feels protected and that's something she's never felt before.

Max and Chelsea's chemistry is instant and they want to know each other, experiment with each other. Their only problem and/or concern is what will their parents think?

I enjoyed this first installment and I'm actually looking forward to reading the second book. I love cliffy's because they always leave me intrigued and wondering what is going to happen next. I do want to continue reading this series because I want to know what's going to happen. Are their parents going to approve of them having a relationship? Is Chelsea's ex-boyfriend going to come back in the picture and be a threat to their relationship? Talk about some unanswered questions that need to be resolved!

I definitely would recommend this book, it was sweet and short and to the point for the first part of this series. It may have seemed a bit rushed but we get the jist of it, at least I did!

Totally 4.0 stars for this step-sibling read!!
