About the Author

Mary Jayne Baker grew up in rural West Yorkshire, right in the heart of Brontë country… and she's still there. After graduating from Durham University with a degree in English Literature in 2003, she dallied with living in cities including London, but eventually came back to her beloved Dales with her own romantic hero in tow.

She lives with him in a little house with four little cats and a little rabbit, writing stories about girls with flaws and the men who love them. You can usually find her there with either a pen, some knitting needles or a glass of wine in hand. She goes to work every day as a graphic designer for a magazine publisher, but secretly dreams of being a lighthouse keeper.

More information can be found about MJ on her website at www.maryjaynebaker.co.uk. You can also follow her on Twitter, @MaryJayneBaker, or like her Facebook page by going to Facebook.com/MaryJayneWrites

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Mary's debut book so I was excited to read another book from her. Meet Me at the Lighthouse is a totally different book to The Honey Trap but Mary's talent for storytelling is ever present. I laughed so much while reading, cried actual tears and full body sighed with the romance of it all. I just loved it.

First time love is my favourite love but if delivered well I do like a second chance romance between characters with a shared history. Bobbie and Ross have history for sure. They've known each other since school. Life and circumstances drifted them apart and it's also brought them back together.

Once again hidden behind the sweet cover are some scorching hot sex scenes, more angst then I can usually handle but in this instance only aided me to turn the pages quicker and some super surprising plot twists and curveballs.

Mary's debut book shocked and surprised me in the best possible way and this one was no different. I think of Mary's books as being driven to somewhere you love in a car but blindfolded. You don't know anything about the journey but you can rest assured the destination will be wonderful!

Bobbie and Ross have a history, and after years without contact their reunion suggests the spark between them never fully died. When the pair embark on an ambitious project to bring their coastal town's dilapidated lighthouse back to its former glory, they find themselves facing numerous challenges - not least keeping their relationship strictly professional.

This witty novel has oodles of charm and a diverse supporting cast which promises to put both Mary Jayne Baker and Meet Me At the Lighthouse firmly on the commercial fiction map.

Sweet, sexy and snort-inducing, this novel has the lot!

Meet Me at the Lighthouse has one of the best opening lines I've read since The Crow Road, and carried on being brilliant all the way through. On one level, a lighthearted summertime romance and, on the other an exploration of what happens when life doesn't turn out the way we want. I laughed, I cried and I loved every damn minute of it!

OH MY! Meet me at the Lighthouse by Mary Jayne Baker is a serious contender for my favourite book of 2017. Without a doubt, Harper Impulse are not only fabulous at designing their covers but have the unique talent to search out books with a difference.

I loved this book from the outset, Bobbie Hannigan is as mad as me and immediately I warmed to the character. It was her birthday and not only did she impulsively buy a lighthouse for one pound (which would be something I would do), but she met the love of her life once more, her childhood sweetheart, Ross Mason, the gorgeous musician, the first boy she ever kissed. After a drunken reunion Ross puts up half the money, 50p and becomes a joint owner of the once glorious Cragport Victorian Lighthouse, their plan to turn it into a music venue, but it’s safe to say everything wasn’t always plain sailing.

For me, this book was impossible to put down, I read it in a couple of days with a silly grin etched on my face. It was an uplifting story, moved at great pace, all the characters were charming and I simply adored the setting.

The story had the right amount of giggles, romance and learning curves of life. This book by Mary Jayne Baker is definitely one for your summer holiday!

A story that is just perfection and full of fun.

FINALLY!!!!! I have been waiting AGES for Mary Jayne Baker’s new book to come out, and no, not just because I’m quoted on the cover. Although, that does help, obviously!

‘Meet Me at the Lighthouse’ is pure genius from start to finish. Not a page went by where I wasn’t snorting like pig, or wiping the tears off my face with the cuff of my sleeve. Yes folks, I could NOT stop laughing. You know how it goes when someone’s laugh is funnier than the joke itself? Well my laugh it pretty hilarious, but even MJB managed to blow that out of the water with her genius sense of humour.

The moment Bobbie Hannigan came face to face with the boy she first kissed, Ross, I didn’t know whether to sing ‘THIS SEX IS ON FIRE’ or ‘LET’S GET IT ON’. Seriously, the chemistry that they both had, was sizzling. I adore the fact that Mary Jayne Baker writes kick ass heroines, aka; ones that can stand on their own two feet without pining for a lovestick. There are so many books out there where the leading lady ends up resembling a red slush puppy, but MJB ensures her leading ladies are independent women with bucketfuls of sass.

This entire book is just unique and hilarious, right from page one. I mean, take the lighthouse for example; it plays a big part in the storyline and the author has incorporated it absolutely brilliantly, and in such a way that will get everyone talking. Well, or they might be looking at their freddo’s feeling as though they have been ripped off (what’s new there then!)!

If you’re already a fan of Mary Jayne Baker’s novels, you will know that she is able to get her readers hot under the collar in a matter of seconds; Meet Me at the Lighthouse is no exception!
