It arrived very promptly with us in France but delivery cost a fortune via DHL who crammed it into our letterbox, couldn't even deliver it to the house. Since it's vacuum packed I really think standard airmail postage would be just as reliable and our postman would bring it to the house for us at a much cheaper cost. We can't afford to buy another smaller one sadly.
I just give it a quick shake to get the mud off (which dries quickly due to the heat)each evening and shake the dust off the electric blanket. My dog is not a chewer but the cable appears to be bite proof and long enough that an extension lead is not required. The leopard design is quite naff to look at but it does hide the dirt pretty well if you have a damp or muddy dog/s getting into it.
You MUST ensure that the electric blanket is completley flat (my dog likes to twirl around a few times before settling down and sometimes runched the blanket up a bit)
I washed it in the washing machine after a few weeks and it came out just like new (I was worried it would loose it's shape, but it didn't) and I did take the elctric blanket out first!! :¬)
My only gripe was that the zip bust within the first week. As I was using it during the autumn I had to clean it out daily (due to the bad weather) and it couldn't handle being opened and closed so much.
Overall, it may seem quite expensive but it was cheap to run and as I said the dog loved it.
It looked a little floppier than I thought it would be but it actually stands up quite well, and seems to maintain a steady not too hot heat. Have not tried washing it yet as seems to stay fairly clean with a shake and a brush. I would recomend it for old pets as they need a bit of extra heat at night when the central heating is off.
she has abandoned it at the moment but I think purely as it probably too
cosy for the summer but I feel positive that she will soon return as the
temperature demands as and when the seasons change.
