About the Author
Willison was born near Stirling in 1680. Converted at an early age, God called him to the ministry of the Gospel. In 1703, when he was 23, he was ordained in the parish church of Brechin, 27 miles north of Dundee.
From the outset of his labours, Willison was distinguished by a zeal for the glory of God. He was diligent in pastoral duties and had a particular concern for the spiritual welfare of the young people of his congregation.
In 1718 Willison moved from Brechin to the South Church in Dundee where he laboured till his death in 1750.
