I spent the last 20ish% in sobbing bits. I felt every part of this beautiful, heart moving story.

"Three knocks could change everything."

Just wow.
I never expected so much from this book.
Full Measures is one big melting pot of angst, heart and bliss. It made me cry and smile and swoon. It was so much more than I ever expected and reminded my of why I love NA stories. Let me share the lovely feelings...

It's about devastating loss.... Surviving. Living for yourself and letting the people you love follow their plans, their dreams. Finding your true love and not letting go. Being true to yourself.

There's an array of wonderful characters, the good and the bad, and I hope to meet some of them again in future books.

"There was something about you...."

Ember is a 20 year old army daughter living the perfect life with her perfect boyfriend. A life where her future is mapped out and planned, as we know, things are not always what they seem. One day 3 knocks make her world fall apart..... And readers that's only the beginning.... The more the book unfolded, the more I was drawn in emotionally, to the story and the characters.

"Josh had been forbidden, untouchable, and a little dangerous."

Josh is a few years older than Ember, he's a gorgeous Hockey star and someone Ember used to swoon and lust over from afar. He. Is. Delicious. The things he said to her made me want to melt, what a sweetheart. He made me swoon and then swoon again. *sigh* He's the type of book character that makes my heart beat faster. I could feel his presence on the page; charisma oozed out of him.

One of the first things about this book that grabbed my attention when I began reading were the names for the children, December 'Ember', April, and August 'Gus'. I thought this was quirky, cute, and definitly makes the characters memorable.
Within the first few pages it feels like your heart has been torn from your body, stamped all over, and then put back again. It is so heartbreakingly sad and I sobbed my heart out with big ugly crying. While I was wiping away the tears I loved getting to see how Ember is with Gus, how caring and thoughtful she is to her younger brother, and those who have younger siblings can probably agree with me that they can be very annoying at times, and after they receive the devastating news, how strong she is to keep her family going while trying not to break down herself.

Riley is a complete and utter hypocritical ass, from the moment he is mentioned, added with his lack of support for Ember, I knew I wasn't going to be impressed with him. Kayla, Ember's so called friend, what a friend you don't need or want around, and if she is a friend I would love to see what enemies do to Ember. Kayla is just as bad as Riley and I was happy to see Ember close the door on their friendship no matter how much it hurt her to do it.
Josh *sigh* I think we all need a Josh in our lives. His secret wasn't what I was expecting, and I do feel sorry for how Ember discovers it, but in all honesty although I can see her side of the story it could have been a lot worse than it was. Yes he made a HUGE mistake in keeping this from her, but he did it to protect her, and I think this is his only failing. He is sweet, romantic, polite, and generally an all round nice HOT character.

Well, this is a wonderful book. It's sensitive to what it's like to be a military family, and all that comes with it. The romance of December and Josh, really touched me, and in general the story was very believable. It was really nice to read about a so called bad boy who underneath, wasn't at all.

I've had this on my kindle for a while but didn't get around to reading it. It may even have been a freebie, and guess what it was a smasher.

Ember (December) Howard - what a great name. I love that her sister is April, her brother August & mum is June. I want them to adopt me so I can change my name to February (May would be too boring & January would get shortened to Jan).

Josh Walker is mighty fly! He makes me want to learn how to ice skate or play hockey so he can pick me up when I fall or lovingly wrap me in his jacket and his arms before kissing me every so gently.

Sorry got a bit lost there in my reverie.

Loads of sweet falling in love moments. Littttttttle bit of sexiness, quite vanilla but perfect for Ember and Josh. The odd nooooooooo moments. And tears, yep, rolling down my chin.

I loved the cover pic too.

Heart melting quotes:

"The fire you have within you is impossible to kill. The first breath you take when you're free of all this, it will come roaring back. That's what is so impossibly beautiful about you."

"I love you enough for both of us. I can't regret anything that brought us together."

"Maybe love this exquisite, this powerful isn't meant to last forever. Maybe we're meant to burn so brightly for each other right now to light whatever path we're heading down, but there's no sustaining a fire like this."

"Live, baby. Laugh, cry, scream, and love. Realise that every moment you have is worth every drop of sweat and tears you can give it."
