Product description

About the Author

Born in the Ohio Valley, Terri relocated below the Mason Dixon line in the early 1990s after experiencing three blizzards in eighteen months. Seeking warmer climes and a career in the music business, she landed in Nashville and learned fast that getting a job on Music Row is not as easy as it sounds. Ironically, it wasn't until she left Nashville and moved to Arkansas that she found her way into radio. Never one to stay put for long, Terri eventually moved to the East Coast, settled near the ocean, earned her bachelor’s degree while raising a daughter, and joined cubicle land once again. But a love of romance novels soon found her writing her own. Five years and many pages later, in 2012, she was named a finalist in the Romance Writers of America Golden Heart contest. An agent and contract soon followed. Terri now resides in Virginia with a teenager, a Yorkipoo, and two fat and happy tabbies.

Beth is about to make the biggest mistake of her life, marrying a guy that's married to his job..but then she falls in love with his brother
This was cute, but oh dear badly written. Lots of and then she did this, and then she did this, and then she did this dialogue which was hard to get into and quite frankly a bit of a bore. The underlying tension also boils down to about 2pages of actual romance, so also not for those looking for steamy.
If you can get past the start it does get much better, but I suspect Meant To Be will lose readers along the way without meaning to

A quick and easy, lighthearted read about Beth/Elizabeth who visits her fiance's family in an island community and finds herself falling for his brother. Apart from a side plot about a possible development on the island this is the extent of the plot.

Despite its simplicity I really liked this book. I thought that the characters were better depicted than usual in romance fiction with no obvious "baddies" (except perhaps Cassandra and even then you can understand why she does what she does). The three way tension is very well done. Joe and Beth struggle believably with their unwanted attraction and their unwillingness to betray Lucas. They both have hangups from their past but these are realistic and affect their behaviour in a way that fits in well with the story. The small town feeling is quite common in American romances but it is not as nauseatingly overdone as it often is, and the description of the island and its challenges makes sense and provides an interesting background for the story.

This is not a unique story and nor is it very deep but it is engaging and if you are fond of small town romances (and I am) you will find this very readable and enjoyable.

Just some VERY light reading! Reminded me of romances I read as a teenager but a little raunchier. Will appeal to some for holiday reading.

Formulaic simple romance novel. Long drawn out build up to the inevitable and obvious ending. Lightweight easy reading. Fun but a bit frustrating. Some occasional moments of nice writing. Not sure whether to continue on with the series...

I've been reading a lot of small town romances lately and this one is really good. I liked it a lot. It's more of a 'small island' romance but it has all the hallmarks I've come to expect. This is the first in the Anchor Island series and it's so good.

It's very predictable, right from the first chapter it's clear what's in store but with these kind of romances that doesn't phase me, it's the journey rather than the destination that's important.

I loved the two main characters and their chemistry was believable, I felt a little bit uncomfortable at first with the 'choosing between two brother's' thing but actually it's not as skeevy as it sounds. The secondary characters are really endearing too, all the islanders. Sid, I love. I can't wait to read more about her in the next book. I hope Lola is mentioned somewhere too because she such a big character and I didn't get to find out enough about her.

All of it is just a really nice romance. Nice characters, nice setting and a great start to to a new series. I'll definitely be reading more of this one.

This was a beautiful read. It was touching, heartbreaking and real. There was real chemistry and I loved the whole small town/island romance - this reminded me of the also wonderful Weak at the Knees.

Beth and Joe,s romance was very quick. They both felt from their first meeting that there was a connection between them. It was unfortunate that she was engaged to his brother. Sid on the other hand was very interested in said brother. I expect things Will hot up in the next book.

Really enjoyable book. Romance and love don't always match, however in this book they both collide to make one big heavy mess of things. You can't help, but fall in love yourself with all the characters and Anchor Island. Simply loved it.
