1.0 out of 5 stars CLASSIC ALBUMS MARRED BY SUB-STANDARD AUDIO 17 Jun. 2008
By BOB - Published on Amazon.com
Verified Purchase
Even though I owned all three of the 2001 Buddah remasters of the first three Delfonics albums, I purchased this 2008 disc, due to the claim of being newly-remastered for this release.

Unfortunately, as soon as I A/B-compared them, I found the Buddah's to be head-and-shoulders superior to the audio on this CD. In fact, the Buddah's sound so much better, I don't think ANYTHING new was done to this release, audio-wise.

If you want to hear the best audio of both these albums, buy the Buddah's:

La La Means Love You
Sound Of Sexy Soul
The Delfonics

Unfortunately, the Buddah's are now OOP, but used copies are usually available here on Amazon, and also on eBay and Half.

You may have to search a little, and/or exercise some patience, but the Buddah discs are definitely worth the time and effort.

And, if you already own the Buddah's, don't needlessly waste money re-buying this disc; you already have the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Those British imports. 18 July 2012
By William Black - Published on Amazon.com
Perhaps this "Bob" is partial to packages that were produced here in the USA, i.e. Buddah Records. Are there some good American packages? Of Course! However it is also true, I'm afraid to say, that many times the European imports sound better. This is particularly true of Sequel records, which is based in The United Kingdom, Repertoire Records, which is a German import, Charly Records, which is based in The United Kingdom, and of course, Kent Records, which involves the disc being discussed.

This is only a partial list. I'm afraid my mind is not working up to par..it's 7AM!! My point here is that this packages sounds GREAT. No holds barred!! If you listen through a GOOD pair of headphones, i.e. Sennheiser, I would imagine that you would likely agree with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars they got it right this time 6 Dec. 2007
By Edward D. Turner - Published on Amazon.com
If you love classic soul music like I do, this is the BEST one-two-package anywhere. The Delfonics (with Tom Bell) were never better than displayed in this two cd set. My favorite and probably your favorite Delfonic songs are right here in this cd set. They finally got it right this time!
