Conway delivers the entire menu of eating dilemmas... If you are at your wits end, this book will offer the answer. -- Junior, November 2007

From the Back Cover

Raising children is incredibly rewarding but there are times
when our family lives become stress and mealtimes turn into battlegrounds.

Dr Rana Conway believes that we can all enjoy happy family mealtimes and in
this step-by-step practical guide she shows how to banish the stress by
understanding:

- how to establish a positive environment for all your family to eat
it
- what to expect from your child as they develop
- what food your children should eat and how you can ensure they are
having a nutritious diet
- how to overcome problems of refusing to eat or fussiness
- how to encourage good table manners
- how to help your children if they are overeating or worrying about
their weight and trying to diet

With suggestions for games to play with your little ones and activities for
children of all ages, Dr Rana helps you put your children on the road to
healthy eating habits for life.

I have a 2 year old boy who has struggled with eating since he started solids at 6 months. Unrealistically I was wanting this book to give me a solution to the difficulties but there is not a magic wand! I unfortunately did not learn much new but it did give me some reassurance that we weren't doing anything 'wrong'.

Promoting healthy eating habits amongst children is an ongoing concern and this book certainly helps to steer you in the right direction. It's a well thought through book and gives advice on just about everything from more serious issues to lighthearted ways of encouraging healthy eating. There's a really useful part in one of the end chapters which gives you ideas on healthy eating activities - everything is worth a try with my two!

There are quite a few books out there about healthy eating and recipes for kids. This was the first book i've found that also covers the way we programme our kids by the way we feed them, and the contribution this makes to their health as adults. For example if you always make your kids eat everything on their plate, you set them up to become adults who are in danger of overeating. I found this book readable and informative and i would recommend it to all parents.
