Review: How did it take me so long to read this book? This just shows why we shouldn't judge books by their covers (or their titles!) because this book did not feature any nasty Mr Jones at all, it was a great read! I loved the structure of this book, each section about a different Mr Jones and the women involved with them, some romantically and some not so there was a great deal of variety throughout the book, something which kept me reading on and wanting to find out more.

I think Izzy was my favourite character to read about, I could really relate to her story and her situation and i found her storyline had the most going on in it, even if some of it was a little deep and serious sometimes-its true to life! I also really enjoyed here ending (not giving anything away obviously) but i enjoyed the journey that she went on over the course of the book!

I enjoyed the other sotyrlines in the novel and I thought that all of them were were realistic and true to life. I really felt for Emma and their issues with trying for a baby and though that Alicia really found herself over the course of this novel. The fact that the novel was structure in this way meant that it was fast paced and this was a very quick read for me, so quick in fact, this may be a novel which i re-read in the future!

In terms of setting, this novel was set across different English cities and the countryside and I enjoyed that variety of areas being described. This book had an epilogue, which I always love, and everybody got the ending that I was hoping for-always nice too! As I have already said, this novel is definitely worth a re-read because it was so entertaining, funny, heartwarming and just a genuinely good read! I would read anything else by Lucy Diamond again-she is definitely an auto-buy author for me!

Think Lucy Diamond books just keep getting better.
The author comments at the start of the book that writing about three brothers & their partners felt like rich pickings from an authors perspective.
What this results in is a great read!
I loved that there were a number of "main" characters & that the story line included the extended family.
This is obviously a stand alone novel & everything is nicely rounded off by the end of the book. However, I liked these characters so much that I would love to see a continuation of their lives in a sequel.
One of the nicest books I have read this year.

When the Jones brothers are invited to lunch at their parents B&B, little do they know what is in store for them and how it could change their lives. Lilian and Eddie have decided that it's finally to hand over the reins of their business to one of their sons, Hugh, David or Charlie, but which one has what it takes to do so.

Despite this being about which of the sons will take over the family business, the story is actually told from the viewpoints of the women in the family as we all know that behind every man there is usually a strong woman holding things together and that's certainly true here. We meet Lilian, the matriarch of the family, wives Alicia and Emma and the potential newest member of the family Charlie's girlfriend Izzy. At first it would appear that Lilian is a bit harsh on the three other women but it's soon clear that she's simply a mother wanting the best for her sons and that the stress of worrying about her own husband's health is playing a huge part on her behaviour...

Don't let the fact that there are so many central characters to get to know put you off as they each played their part into making this such an enjoyable read. I loved the fact that there was so much going on in this story, each character had their own issues to contend with before they could even contemplate what the future might have in store for them. I really enjoyed Me and Mr Jones so would love to revisit them some day to see how their lives have turned out following the decisions they made...

This is one of those books that you can totally indulge yourself in and get lost in the characters. Absolutely fell in love with the jones family I got completely hooked from the first page and to my family's horror read the whole book in one sitting. I would recommend that you pick this book up on a day that you have no plans and enjoy.

This was my fourth Lucy Diamond book in as many months and I've loved every single one of them, I only wish I'd discovered her sooner.

The story centres around the Jones family:- Lilian, Eddie, their 3 sons and their respective partners. Diamond writes about them in such a way that you really care about the characters and truly feel like a part of the family. I think Izzy was my favourite but all of the characters were well developed and interesting.

Another 5 star hit from one of my new favourite authors.

The story revolves around the Jones family; the four Mr Jones and the women and children that share their lives.
Eddie Jones and his wife Lilian have lived in Mulberry House for over forty years, this is where they brought up their three sons; Hugh, David and Charlie. Mulberry House is now a guest house and Lilian and Eddie have managed their business very well over the years. Lilian has realised though that Eddie's health is not so good, it is time for them to retire, but will any of their sons want to take over the business?

Be warned! Once you start reading Me And Mr Jones you will won't want to put it down. This is the perfect summer read, full of entertaining and vividly drawn characters who immediately begin to feel like members of your own family. Hugh has been married to Alicia for around twenty years, they appear to be the model family; good jobs, nice house and three lovely children. Alicia is approaching her fortieth birthday and is beginning to feel unsettled, she is tired of being the perfect wife, always cleaning and cooking, she want a little excitement in life. Little does she know that good old Hugh has a little secret of his own.

David, the middle son has lost his job. His wife Emma is desperate for a baby, everything seems to be crumbling around them. Emma wants a baby, she is determined to get pregnant, and nothing will stand in her way.

Charlie, the youngest son, is a charmer. Totally unreliable, but Lilian's favourite son. Everything that he touches fails, yet he is lovable and honest and loyal. When he meets Izzy, on the run from an abusive husband with two young daughters in tow, everyone assumes that this is going to be another of Charlie's failures. They don't know Izzy though!
