I bought this due to owning and enjoying the The Settlers of Catan (New Edition) and Mayfair Games - The Settlers of Catan Card Game. This game uses different mechanics, but simulates the same object of collecting & spending resources. The big let-down for me is that there is no interaction between players. On your turn you roll the dice, and work to score victory points. Then you pass to the next player, and continue until someone has scored enough points to win. It's basically a race. There's no way to influence an opponent's points, and nothing to do during their turn but watch. This may be an advantage in some situations; we played this on a campsite with no central table to sit around, and people chatted between their turns. But actually, that was the first and last time I played it. If a table's available, I'd rather play one of the other versions.
