I applied the foundation using my fingers and it went on beautifully. I don't like to wear a lot of foundation and found that this product disappeared into my skin very well. For those who prefer to wear more, it will build up very nicely.
My 45 year old face does not feel dry or oily - it's perfect for me.
Colour choice is very difficult on line. I'm a pale skinned Caucasian with winter-pale skin, and went for the Warm Almond - and it's a perfect match.
I've added some photos to show the size and texture of the product.
I've found it to be transfer resistant, another plus. I've worn with a primer, without one, with powder and alone; It is long lasting and gives a natural, un-cakey look any way I wear it. Finally; This hasn't oxidized on me. I've tried a few different Max Factor foundations and loved them at first, but there always came a point when I'd catch my reflection and be horrified by the Jersey Shore reject looking back at me.
You don't seem to get a lot of product compared to other brands, but you don't need to thickly gloop the product on, so it'll last for quite a while with almost daily use, so I'm not complaining. The only other issue I had is that the foundation applies a bit lighter in shade than it looks in the container. Nothing too drastic, but bare that in mind when purchasing.
I am quite pale with sensitive, combination skin which is prone to acne rosacea so finding a suitable foundation can be an onerous task. Beauty therapists often try to persuade me to purchase expensive hydrating foundations to give me a "dewy" finish - I end up looking like an oil slick instead. The medium coverage I achieve with this foundation is demi-matte, not too shiny and not too drying either. It is the consistency of whipped cream (funnily enough) and a little goes a long way so this pot will last a long, long time. I like a light dusting of translucent powder on top if I'm using powder blusher but otherwise, for once in my life, I embrace the semi-matteness of it all - very daring after 34 years of being caked in powder!
It is not a very "buildable" foundation in that once you apply it you should quickly blend and not add any more for extra coverage. I like this aspect as it speeds up the whole getting ready process. Natural seems the ideal shade for my pale skin. Highly recommended.
Plus it has glycerine and water infused with the foundation so it's highly moisturising.
Oil-free and fragrance-free(But to me it has a slight smell of synthetic cherry).
