Maureen Hughes was born in York where she grew up as the only child of Ernest and Vera Rowan. Later moving South with her husband and two children she began her writing career and now, in addition, teaches Academic Studies at PPA College for the Performing Arts in Guildford Surrey. Maureen is the author of four books with two more due for publication in 2013/14 and a further six under discussion. She has also written several plays and, together with her composer husband, eight musicals. Her work has been produced in the West End of London, the UK Provinces, TV, Radio and in the USA. Her two children are now following in her footsteps and are both published writers.
