This is, quite simply, a beautifully produced large-format book, fully worthy of its subject. The illustrations are admirably chosen, well photographed and finely reproduced, and the text can reasonably claim to be authoritative. A sumptuous feast of a book, a splendid tribute to one of the eighteenth century's greatest innovators.

Buy it - I'm delighted with my copy.

Expensive, but what a book ! Superbly produced in every way, the full colour illustrations of a standard rarely seen today. The structure of the book different to many biographical works, but remarkably informative about this staggeringly successful and inventive man.
Thoroughly recommended
