I havent read the first book in the series but this book can be read as a stand alone without any problem. I loved the dual POV throughout this book, to get inside both of the main characters heads really gives this book great depth.
I love the whole idea of the setting in this book, the workplace, both theatre and back stage the costume room are all so well described you can imagine it all so well.
Penn is such a sweet caring soul and such a total opposite to Adam, but they just work so well as friends and as a couple. there chemistry is off the charts smoking hot.
There are many tough issues raised and addressed throughout this story, in a way that is both thoughtful and supportive and true to the real world so to speak. This author deals with the issues in a sensitive manner.
All the characters gel well together in this story and you can really imagine them all being real and working together.
A beautiful story with plenty of drama and passion and a very enjoyable read.
I loved the crazy, hot love scenes. The great angst burning between Penn and Adam as they navigated their way to their wonderful HEA.
Adam is an actor and performing in a play at a London theatre. He is recovering from heartbreak after his lover, Charlie, leaves him to pursue his rock band dreams in America. Adam now refuses to be put in a position to be hurt again so he leads a life of one night stands and hook ups. That is until he meets Penn, who shocks the life out of him as he is the spitting image of his ex. Well he would be as Penn is Charlie’s twin brother.
Although the twins are identical in looks it is their personalities and values that set them miles apart. Adam finds himself becoming more intrigue by Penn, the new theatre wardrobe assistant, but is this because he feels Penn is a substitute for Charlie or was Adam with the wrong brother in the first place? The story transpires of the pair both fighting a losing battle with their attraction to each other.
I liked how this touched on depression and how the unreasoning of self-issues can weave doubt in the mind, such as it did for Adam who is a constant worrier that he will end up like his mother. It takes a caring soul that Penn is for him to gradually learn to understand his issues and how together they can work through this. There is a lot of angst and soul searching for both of them in this book but it comes to a near tragedy to force them (mainly Adam) to meet these demons head on.
I’m not a fan of feminising a male character in m/m romance and at first I felt this was happening to Penn with the dressing in silk etc, but it wasn’t until I grasped and understood this diverse and wonderful character that he is that it all clicked into place. I felt kind of ashamed to put that assumption in my head and loved the message in this book in that everyone is unique and are there to be accepted for who they are.
I really loved both main characters and thought the chemistry and integration of their romance was wonderfully done. The secondary characters also gelled the storyline and made me eager to go back and read Dance which is already on my kindle.
A highly engaging and enjoyable read. Four stars.
I loved Dance, the first book in the series, so it was no surprise that I loved this one too - but I think I may have enjoyed it even more!
The workplace of these characters - both theatre and back stage - is so wonderfully evoked that it is easy to imagine the fun and the chaos that happens behind the scenes. Penn is such a sweet caring soul, that matching him with Adam is brave. To create the chemistry that lives between them is magical - Ms Kostova is a mistress of her art. Many tough issues are raised and addressed, in a way that is both thoughtful and supportive. A beautiful story, which was over all too soon. Definitely joining Dance as a go to feel good story, with plenty of drama and passion.
Reading the author's words it is clear that she wrote this more quickly due to readers wanting to know what happened next ... well it may just be time to start applying the pressure for some more characters to get their HEAs Sonnie and Riley? Connor deserves his chance ... I could go on !

If you haven't read Dance yet where we meet Adam, I'd say make sure you add that to your tbr as well!
Adam meets Penn at work, but it's not as easy as that, his highly attracted to this gorgeous man but should he take it further.... Trust me there are issues to be dealt with!
Penn is a designer and is a wonderful character, so warm and sexy too.
The journey they embark on makes an enticing read and will keep you turning pages. The bedroom scenes are smoking .
Their story is intermingled with Fenix and Jared's story and as I adore them two, it made this an even better read.
4.5 sexy vampy and racey stars.
