6/10. Played on PS5.
Cons:
4-5 hour story full of clichéd writing and typical tropes - main villain(s) is/are boring and generic, lacking side content, limited skills and gadgets, numerous glitches such as skills no longer working forcing you to restart missions, getting trapped in the environment etc (mostly happens to enemies.) Awkward character animation in cutscenes at times (the start of the game is an exception because all character movement is excellent here.) I noticed frequent background visual popping when camera cuts shot during cutscenes. Miles makes really annoying quips, they feel forced and too far off the mark for what should be "cheesy Spiderman remarks."
Pros:
Great swinging and acrobatic animations, city looks great with raytracing etc and the weather effects are nice. Special abilities are a nice way to mix up combat and movement around the city in free-roam, this was a great choice to allow jumping and dashing as a movement mechanic outside of combat, it's really fun. Character performance from Miles' mother is great, probably the most consistent character in the game for quality especially for VA, alongside **SPOILER** Rhino, who feels like a proper monster at the start of the game.
I'm not commenting on the OST/music as it's not my style and I don't like it personally, but that's not enough to validate a negative review of that part of the game because that's just preference.
Consider picking this up for £25-£30, it's absolutely not worth more than that, but at a lower price point the fun would balance out the cost, currently there just isn't enough 'stuff' there to justify paying over £40.

This game is visually stunning, thanks to the console's use of 4k resolution and HDR.
There are two modes, Fidelity and Performance. Performance uses 4k and 60fps while Fidelity uses 4k and 30fps but the one I prefer out of the two is Fidelity because of the quality and most of all, ray tracing.
I would complain that the story is short but to be fair, it was average as it was able to tell a story that would make me smile, cry and feel entertained and excited because Insomniac and Sony once again made another Spider Man game but this time in the eyes of Miles.
I love this game and fans of the previous game like me would not want to miss this.

When you've for a great game in the original (2018 Spiderman) and you add updated graphics (which look beautiful) and a new protagonist, the results are the same; excellent! Only put about 3 hours into it so far but it's been a very enjoyable experience and I can only see it getting better as the game progresses. For a game that's similar in length to Uncharted: the lost legacy, there's plenty to get your teeth into. Buy it!

Fantastic game. Played every minute with a smile on my face. Takes the best of the first game and carries it on and more. The first 10 mins or so in this game is amazing. Possibly the best launch title for any console, ever... played it through in performance mode (60fps) rather than the higher res fidelity mode (30fps). But played on either option you can’t go wrong here. If you have a PS5, you need this in your life!! Gaming is looking bright right now.

The original spiderman game on the PS4 was brilliant, and this being one of the launch titles for PS5 i was truly excited. Overall the game does not disappoint and graphically is beautiful- i played it with Ray-tracing on as opposed to the 60fps mode. I do like the story as well. So why the 4 stars as opposed to a full-fat 5- well its because the game is short and it feels so compared to the first iteration. The first Spiderman game had multiple bosses, epic battles and a more comprehensive story line- it just felt complete, so when you finished the game and didnt expand it with the DLC that felt OK. This game feels way too short, the boss battles not as epic and demanding- so when i approached the final chapter of the story- I was like 'no way.' I had got to the end with not even all the skills, hadnt locked all the suits or upgrades, hadnt upgraded any of the weapons and yet I was on the cusp of the final part of the game. I purposely put it off so I could do all the above things-I like the game- so the likelihood is that I will be purchasing DLC content to expand the game which for a game at this price means I will probably end up paying closer to the £100 mark which is a really expensive standard edition game.

I loved the first Spiderman like most did, and in lots of ways I prefer Miles Morales to the first entry. Miles is more likable to me, story is fun, the graphics look nicer, and the load time are instant. But if you buy this game be prepared that this games campaign lasted me 6 hours... thats right, 6 hours. Theres only one main boss besides Rhino which is right at the start of the game. There is just as much filler side quests as the first. Im on my second playthrough going for the platinum trophy and it will take me less than 15ish hours. I feel a bit ripped off.. but I did enjoy it for what it was.
