About the Author

Born in Paris in 1968, Raphaelle Ziade is doctor in history of ancient Christianity and Late Antiquity civilization from the University of Paris IV Sorbonne (2002) and a prior student of the Biblical and Archeological French School of Jerusalem. She is currently engaged in post-doctoral researches related to the cult of saints in Syria in Late Antiquity and preparing the critical edition of John Chrysostom's Homilies on the Maccabean Martyrs. This book is a revised version of the doctoral thesis she wrote under the tutelage of Professor Monique Alexandre, University of Paris IV-Sorbonne, France. *** Nee a Paris en 1968, Raphaelle Ziade est docteur en histoire du christianisme ancien et civilisation de l'Antiquite tardive de l'Universite de Paris iv-Sorbonne (2002) et ancienne eleve de l'Ecole biblique et archeologique francaise de Jerusalem. Elle effectue actuellement des recherches post-doctorales sur le culte des saints en Syrie dans l'Antiquite tardive et prepare l'edition critique des Homelies sur les Maccabees de Jean Chrysostome. Le present ouvrage est une revision de sa these de doctorat dirigee par le Professeur Monique Alexandre, Universite de Paris-iv Sorbonne.
