Supports all common digital TV formats (ex. MPEG2, MPEG4, AAC)
Just watch TV - no data plan or wifi connection required. Aerial TV works by picking up digital TV channels off the air with a regular TV antenna.
You will need a low cost USB TV tuner. You can grab one online for less than €10. Make sure to get an RTL2832 tuner. When it arrives, just connect the provided antenna and start watching. You may need a USB OTG cable to plug the tuner in your Android device. USB OTG cables are inexpensive and easy to find.
Note that your Android device must support USB OTG. If unsure, do a quick search online or consult your Android device manual. Also check that there is DVB-T/DVB-T2 service in your local area by doing a quick search online. Signal needs to be strong enough for Aerial TV to pick it up. For best results use an outdoor aerial.
You get free unlimited access to radio forever. You also get to watch all TV channels and experience all features of Aerial TV during the trial period for free. After the trial period ends you can make a one-off purchase and watch as much TV as you want. Remember: you can keep listening to radio even if the trial has ended!
Legal notice: It is your responsibility to comply with local law before downloading or using Aerial TV to watch TV channels. Aerial TV does not bundle any content. Content for playback is provided by the end-user via the hardware USB TV tuner connected to Aerial TV. Users must ensure they do not infringe copyright when playing back TV signals with Aerial TV. The Aerial TV team cannot be held responsible or liable for misuse of the app by the end user. Please refer to the license agreement you have received with your hardware device for more information.

Q: What tuner do I need to watch DVB-T2? A: If your country has DVB-T2 broadcasts (such as Freeview HD in UK) you will need a DVB-T2 compatible receiver dongle such as R828D in order to watch DVB-T2 with Aerial TV.

While most of US watch TV on their android device via the internet, what do you do when there is no internet? Many countries are covered 100% by over the air TV, and this app in combination with a cheap USB dongle, enables you to watch it. There are three digital TV systems in the world, the European DVB-T and it's newer upgrade DVB-T2, which this receives, ATSC which used in North America, and is not compatible and a Japanese system which is also not compatible. DVB-T is used in Europe, western Asia (aka the middle East), and Africa. If you live there or are visiting, it provides you with another option for news and entertainment. In most countries, there are also audio broadcasts mixed in with the TV, so you don't need a radio to listen to them. Some are repeats of over the air FM broadcasts, some are digital only. The app itself works fine and is easy to use. The free version works for a half hour, long enough to make sure it works with your phone or tablet and USB tuner stick. This version does not support Android TV remote controls. There is a companion app called SDR Touch, which is an actual software defined radio receiver. It is used for listening to radio broadcasts. You can have both on your phone or tablet and switch back and forth.
5.0 out of 5 starsTV on smartphone without streaming, runs also on Homesync device

I installed the app on an ASUS Transformer TF300T tablet, (obviously connected to a SDR FM DAB USB stick) and it runs smoothly. Same on a Samsung Homesync, that should be a Media server I use the Homesync connected to a 20" screen like a big Android tablet and with Aerial TV (and the same SDR FM DAB USB stick) the Homesync is also a TV set.
