I have played Martin guitars for years now and the favourite is my OM42.

These strings have come down in price and they give the 42 an excellent balanced sound with a good clear treble and a deep, quality bass. There is nothing quite like the sound of a new set of strings on a Martin and these are good strings, especially at these prices.

These are fantastic strings that sound unbelievably warm. But, they do fade very quickly be wary of that, however well worth trying out.

Decided to try a lighter gauge set of strings on my old Aria E100. Having had it strung with the medium set for a while,I felt they were a little heavy for the old girl. Sounded good strumming but finger style, they were a bit unresponsive. Put the strings on singly as it has a floating bridge. No tension on them initially, finger tight as I call it. Left them to settle before tuning in properly. When I went back to it a few hrs later the top E string had snapped at the tuning peg. Not best pleased as I then had to buy another set to replace 1 string. This string tuned in well. I must admit they do sound very sweet, strumming or finger style. Not as punchy as the medium gauge, but that's to be expected from a lighter gauge, but they perfectly suit my guitar.
Contacted the seller immediately, very sympathetic.....but that was as far as it went. A small discount on the second set would have been appreciated.

play mostly fingerstyle every day at home and change my strings every six months. Never break and keep tune, for me no problems i am not a recording artist or on stage pounding the guitar and they provide a great sound on my 2nd hand tanglewood Tw1000 :-)

I really rate these strings. They sound superb, with a big, full bodied sound. I'm not sure if Clapton himself plays them, but they're good enough for me. They're not the cheapest strings available, but I suppose these are marketed as a 'premium' product, which places them a few pounds above other strings. All in all, I think they sound good and for that, are worth the small price difference. Other reviews have mentioned that these strings seem to get dirty very quickly, for me I haven't noticed this yet, but it's still early days.

These are great affordable strings and I really love the tone of them. I had previously purchased the same brand but slightly softer ones and after a couple of days they actually snapped during play... so I went back on amazon and decided to go for the medium ones and they appear to be doing the job just fine, they're a little bit more sturdy (but not so much that the strings become really difficult to play) and the tone is still fantastic (if you're wanting to play blues or indie rock styles).

You can really hear a warmth from the notes being played (unlike some other brands I've tried).

I have given only 1 star because these are not the new environmentally sealed strings as pictured but the old cardboard box version. I returned the strings to the seller and a replacement was sent, I picked them up this morning from my local collection office only to find they have again sent the old boxed version.

I ordered these because they are environmentally sealed which guarantees freshness.

I have been using the new package Clapton Phosphor Bronze Light 12 / 54 on my Martin 0015 for the past few months, the tone is warm with great clarity. I have in the past used Ernie Ball Eathwoods and D'Addario Phosphor Bronze. These strings are by far my favourites.

really nice strings these, nice bottom end and clear trebles dont know what string life is as yet, but i dare say that depends on how often your playing them and if you have sweaty hands, i bought 4 sets from amazon for £15.20 inc postage which i thought was a bargain coz had i went to glasgow,s music stores,i,d be lucky to come away with 2 sets for that amount,, but they sound really bright and warm as i play in a lot of open tunings, overall good quality for little money... happy. damon
