The Story of Marshall…So far!
Rock ‘n’ roll has created the world and no brand has shaped rock ‘n’ roll more than Marshall. Like all supreme forms of life, rock ‘n’ roll and Marshall rests on top of creation not as a result of conscious calculation but has gained their symbiotic power by trusting instincts, being unpredictable and keeping both ears open.
Marshall was spawned in the early 1960’s by Jim Marshall who, by request from young guitarists Pete Townshend and Richie Blackmore, started selling guitar equipment in his drum store. Jim soon begun building his own amplifiers and thanks to his unprejudiced mind combined with certain twists of electrical fate, the Marshall amplifiers were blessed with a sound much heavier than anything heard before. The Marshall sound was born and the tone for the future of rock ‘n’ roll had been set.
The revolutionizing Marshall amplifiers were soon picked up by the era’s most progressive rock ‘n’ roll rebels. The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton were some of the legends to be who felt that they could use the Marshall sound to change popular music into something completely new. Marshall’s keen ear to the demands of these artists together with unforeseen changes in production and materials kept the Marshall sound evolving, entangled as one with that of rock ‘n’ roll. Rock ‘n’ roll has changed a lot since these days but its soul remains the same. With Marshall Headphones it is now time for Marshall and rock ‘n’ roll to introduce yet another bold push into the unknown.
The Major encloses vast amounts of the massive Marshall legacy. They have a simple, yet stylish one colour design in classic black or white that has real eye-catching impact. In addition to this great look, it incorporates quite a few exciting features.
The exterior of the headband is made out of the same vinyl used in Marshall amplifiers and it bears the original Marshall texture. The super soft ear cushion means no matter how hard and heavy the music, the super soft cushions will rest lightly upon your eyes, so no matter how long you’re listening to your favourite music, you will not endure sore or aching ears. The Major comes equipped with microphone and remote for use with a mobile phone using 3.5mm plug unprotected two-way standard (ie. Blackberry, HTC, iPhone). This means that you can take calls and pause and play your music with ease. The Major is delivered with a 6.3 mm adapter for use with with your amplifier, stereo or any sound source adhering to the 6.3 mm. This makes these headphones compatible with both 3.5mm and 6.3mm music players. Furthermore, the fully collapsible construction means if you by chance would like to take The Major off of your head, they are foldable for easy storage and transportation.
Combined with excellent audio and a tangle resistant fabric cord the Major is a solid workhorse with great stamina, designed with non-stop, all-day listening in mind. Rock and Roll to your favourite music today with Marshall Major Headphones – Black!

I am by no means an audiophile, but like everyone else I know what sounds good to me, and what doesnt, for about 5 years I have been using headphones in daily life (headphones around neck and put them on whenever and whereever) so a few things matter massively to me.
#1 Comfort, this is my primary concern, I don't want to be in pain while trying to relax...
#2 Can be worn around neck, if I have to take them physically off my body when im not listening, then they are not the headphones for me.
#3 Audio quality, and yes these are listed in my preference.
#4 Looks, wearing headphones in public is never going to look good, but we can at least try to make it look as good as it can.
So before purchasing these I had probably 6 pairs of the same headphones (sony xb300 gen1) they were some of the comfiest headphones I have ever had on my head, they used some foam that wasnt quite memory foam, but not as harsh as standard foam, they were seriously glorious to wear.
I was majorly attached to these sony headphones and I had gone through about 10 different types of headphones to find anything that compared. Ranging in price from about £150, to £40 (keep in mind my original sony's were only £25 retail...)
Now the sonys were not the best sound quality, but they sounded just fine for out and about listening, and "XB" extra bass, I love de bass!
Now we come to these headphones, I have to say, they still don't compare to the sonys, but I have to realise in my head nothing will compare, after 5 years with them, I feel it was more of an attachment than the product was good.Read more ›
I definitely love them. They are a Bayer-type snug fit, and sound quality is excellent. The headband is comfortable and the gold inlaid Marshall logo on the band is classy. Cable length is just right for me too.
tried them out with an LG Smartphone and they also function well with the call answer button. Much better than wasting a fortune on othher more expensive vanity brands.
I ordered these headphones so I'd have a decent pair of my own to use on a long-haul flight, rather than those horrible things that are delivered to you in plastic bags! I wanted something light, comfy, and not too offensive for hours and hours of use. I also wanted something I wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen in public with........mission accomplished on that front, they're absolutely beautiful!
So far, I've tested the Majors with a variety of genres, from Royksopp's 'Melody AM' to 'Before the Dawn Heals Us' by M83, with some System of a Down, Rammstein and Pink Floyd (DSotM and Animals) too. All were handled with ease. Guitars sound precise, vocals are clear and the bass is ever-present without being overbearing.
In terms of build quality, all seems well. The cable is coiled and feels sturdy, the spring at the base of the 3.5mm plug to stop the cable kinking is a nice touch. Nothing feels like it's going to break any time soon.
All-in-all, I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm giving them four stars because it would have been nice to have a small cable extension in the box, as the coils, handy as they'll be in the flight, are a bit of a pain if you want to lie on your bed and relax. Luckily I already have a decent 5m extension cable. You may want to think about getting one too.
Crystal clear sound with everything
I don't know about mid range, leaking, not good with Metallica guitar solos, high end stuff, but for my simple knowledge they are just brilliant
I'm not going to list all bands I listen to
Just tv (particularly good) and music of all sorts
I became fed up with cheaper, tinny headphones, so pushed the boat out for these Best I've had by a mile
