I have a Sony walkman, great little thing. I also have a Sony headphone, top of the range noise cancelling etc, best in its class. I love listening with it, but I often felt that it was highly inappropriate to listen to heavy classic rock songs with it. Although the songs sound great, there was something missing i couldn't put my finger on. Im not an audiophile or anything like that, I just know if the sound is not quite right. I have several Marshall stuffs over the years never been disappointed with them. This one is well built, premium quality and very good value for the quality you get and the sound! Just wow! It's really amazing, just what I wanted. If you can, please listen to 'Private Investigations' from Dire Straight or 'Still Loving You' from Thin Lizzy or just 'Whole Lotta Love' from Led Zep on both devices and you will see what I mean. It's really great and can be very very loud for such a small thing.
It doesn't have noise cancelling but who cares. It may not be suitable for Jay Z songs or other hip hop songs, but if you are into proper rock music with studio quality sound with all the details, then this is the one to have. Highly recommended and it was a quick and efficient delivery too, signature required on delivery.

Excellent Sound, love these Marshalls already

Audio quality is impressive. The Marshall Major IV are comfortable to wear, for a reasonable time, anyway. They are compact and light and the earpads are soft. They fit well over glasses too. Controls are easy to use and the pairing over Bluetooth was a cinch. Sound deadening of external noise is good. Music is clear and bright, but they also manage bass well. For songs from Amazon music over Bluetooth I was happily surprised at the quality. I have tinnitus in one ear and that seems eased very well when I'm listening to music on them.
