I absolutely loved this quirky novella of how a young woman solves a mystery and finds herself. Influenced by her mother, Kate lives her life according to astrological influences, including marrying Tim on Christmas Eve. On being introduced to Tim, my first reaction was, 'What?? That can't be right!' At the risk of spoilers, I won't say why I felt that but, as Kate's mother has decreed that Kate and Tim are the ideal astrological match, then the marriage must go ahead.

Kate finds the ideal wedding dress, a vintage thirties dream, which has a note attached that Kate finds intriguing. Who was the mysterious woman to whom the dress had belonged? Kate tries, through social media (what would we do with it now?), to trace the woman. What she uncovers is a poignant and heart-warming love story that will have you reaching for the tissues. The very satisfactory ending gave me the same lovely feeling that comes with Christmas.

Whenever I see that Talli Roland has released a new Christmas novella, I get excited, because I know I’m in for a treat. Married by Midnight was no exception.

The stars have aligned, the fates have spoken, the horoscopes have decried it, so Kate is getting married this Christmas. Who cares if the man of her dreams isn’t all that dreamy and he spends more time watching the game than paying attention to her? One thing that is worthy of her daydreams is the vintage wedding dress she finds. But when she finds a note pinned inside the dress, she becomes more interested in unravelling the mystery surrounding its owner than in continuing to plan her own quickly approaching wedding.

As with all of Talli’s books, Married by Midnight is wonderfully unique. I love the premise of the book, and how everything came together. Kate is a funny, spunky character, and her mother and sister made great side characters.

I loved the overall message of this book about following your heart, doing what’s right for you, and continuing to believe in love, even when things don’t work out exactly how you planned. For such a short story, it packed a punch.

Married by Midnight is cute, sweet, funny, and romantic. Another winner from Talli Roland!

It's clear from the start that Kate is with the wrong man. We know it, her sister knows it and deep down she knows it too. She just isn't ready to admit it to herself yet.

just a few days from the wedding, Kate finds a note attached to her newly purchased wedding dress. She sets out to find out who wrote it and why. The author shows here how social media can be used in the best possible way.

What I often find lacking in reading short stories, is a deep sense of being inside the character's head. This is not the case with this book, I was with Kate throughout.
In my opinion Talli is the mistress (I won't say master, she's female!) of great plot ideas.

Towards the end I was surrounded by a mass of crumpled up soggy tissues. Have them ready!

If anybody is wanting to read a Christmas novella, but not sure which to chose ...you've just found it!
There is not one single reason to not give this book five stars.

Married by Midnight is a lovely little tale. I find that a lot of the times when reading a Christmas story you know what the outcome of the book will be(which is not a bad thing at all!), but I loved the uniqueness and the brilliant plot idea of this novella.

Kate and her mother are obsessed by astrology and plan their life accordingly, but do the stars always determine your future fate? I really enjoyed Kate’s search for the previous owner of her wedding gown and couldn’t wait to find out whether she will succeed. The whole story that engulfs the vintage wedding dress and its owner is truly magnificent and endearing.

I read Married by Midnight in one sitting and loved every single page. If you are looking for a quick and inspiring read with plenty of romantic and suspense filled moments, then this novella is definitely the right choice for you.

Kate is due to get married just before Christmas to a guy she's only know for less than a year. Whilst looking for the perfect wedding dress, she finds it and a note to the future wearer. To prove that she's marrying the right man, she just has to track down the writer of the note, even though the note may have been written 50 years previously.

For me as a major Talli fan girl, I thought this story was particularly delightful. I read this in one sitting and might have sniffled. Some people might dismiss chick-lit as being unsubstantial fluff, but there's always been a place in my world for fluff and long may there always be.

In summary, a lovely Christmas(ish) tale.

Kate wedding is only a few days away and so is Christmas, shopping for her wedding dress she finds the perfect 1930’s style dress. Hidden in the dress hem she finds a note attached to the dress from the dresses previous owner. Kate being a believer in signs and superstitions sets out to find the dresses owner to see if the dress holds the key to a long happy marriage.

This is another wonderful winter tale from author Talli Roland that you can put the kettle on, sit down and relax and read in just one sitting. The perfect short story for this time of year, with its heart-warming storyline full of Christmas cheer.
