Review

'It sizzled with sparks between the characters... I immensely enjoyed how well Curtis can tell a story as I literally felt like I had become part of it rather than just someone reading along the way.' - THE BOOKISH AND THE ROMANTIC 'The story was fresh and believable. It drew me in so much so that I completely lost track of time and barely got to my kids' pick-up line on time.' - LIZ ELLYN REVIEW BLOGGER

HASH(0x93caa6d8) out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised & Satisfied w/Marriage Merger 13 July 2015
By Dee - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This story surprised me...in a good way! The title & description might lead you to believe this is another 'marriage of convenience' trope (which I love) but it isn't.

Jenna has come to visit her brother for a week before the next phase of her life begins. Only her dear brother Jeff has accidentally on purpose forgotten to tell her that in his place she would find a tall, broad-shouldered sexy man with a grizzly attitude. Braden is rich and handsome and totally gruff. But he has a soft side reserved for his sister and his niece Caitlin. Caitlin was in a car accident that took her father and the young girl will rip at your heart. She doesn't talk, she has a limp and sadness surrounds her.

With Jenna (Jinx!) close by Caitlin slowly begins coming out of her shell. If I'm being honest I almost enjoyed Jenna's relationship with Caitlin more than with Braden. Maybe it's because Caitlin was so genuine and eager to be loved and give love to someone who wanted it. Jenna was that someone...and then some!

You'll enjoy this story if you like adult love stories that have a bit of depth. Both Jenna and Braden have very legitimate reasons for their wariness of love, particularly in their unique circumstances. It didn't feel (too) repetitive and the story moved along nicely. I do wish there could've been some cosmic justice doled out to that psychopath Veronica but hey...can't have everything can you?!

This was a free read but I truly enjoyed it and I'll definitely look to this author in the future.

By Jennifer Pierson: The Power of Three Readers - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the first book I've read by Sandy Curtis and I enjoyed it. It starts out with Jenna Martin showing up to a place where she thought she was visiting with her brother. Instead, she gets a surprise when her brother's boss opens the door, and is highly irritated. She feels a connection but refuses to fall for someone like him ever again, but she does agree to his proposition of helping his niece for 6 weeks. Braden Fleetwood is always in control, whether it's building up his business, taking care of his family, or with the women he sees. He has not time nor desire to have feelings for anyone. His world is turned upside down when he meets Jenna, as he feels a strong pull towards her, and doesn't know what to do with that. Will they both learn that there's more to healing than just the physical aspect?

I really liked this story a lot. The character development is good, with a well written story line that flows smoothly. The chemistry is off the charts, leaving me wanting the sexy scenes just as much as Jenna and Braden. Sandy Curtis does a great job with her easy writing style captivating me cover to cover. Her easy writing style had me fully invested in the story with her characters. My one issue is that I wanted there to be a bit more to the ending, it felt a little rushed. All in all, The Marriage Merger is a great book that I happily recommend!
HASH(0x93df45b8) out of 5 stars Unexpected Delight - Charming 3 Jun. 2015
By Liz Ellyn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book was an unexpected delight. I had many preconceived ideas about it based on the title alone. I wrongly assumed that the book would be the typical rich guy needs to get married for some bizarre reason and then the guy and girl fall in love. I was pleasantly surprised by the nature of the plot. The story was fresh and believable. It drew me in so much so that I completely lost track of time and barely got to my kids’ pick-up line on time.

Jenna’s resistance to falling for the hot rich Braden Fleetwood rang true because her reasoning was based on a thoughtful process rather than petulance. She realizes, “That dependency can be misread as attraction, but it’s an attraction which doesn’t outlast the patient’s treatment.” She acknowledges, “I want all the things you despise – marriage for love, children for love.”

In the beginning of the book, the author mentions that Braden is immensely wealthy but throughout the story his money doesn’t play into an extravagant lifestyle used to impress Jenna. Again, this made the story charming.

I would recommend reading this book.
HASH(0x93cad474) out of 5 stars Fantastic Romance 20 April 2015
By Shell - Published on Amazon.com

Another fantastic book from a must read author. I gulped it down in no time, really drawn in by the characters and the story. Who wouldn't fall in love with a gorgeous man willing to do anything to help his young niece. Braden is a strong hero, brought to his knees by his niece's pain, and Jenna is the perfect woman to heal both their wounds. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a happy ending.
