PRAISE FOR SHUTTERGIRL
"I went into "Shuttergirl" not knowing what magic CD Reiss had created. Instantly, I was swept away with perfect prose, incredible imagery, and a character connection I loved. In my mind, it was a perfect modern day fairy-tale where the loved and hated try to bridge the chasm of society's unwritten laws and listen to what they want, rather than what Hollywood tells them. It's the shit. Buy it." Pepper Winters, "New York Times" bestselling author of the Monsters in the Dark series
"Engaging, sexy, and noteworthy, "Shuttergirl" is just another example of why CD Reiss is one of my go to authors. Her clean writing style, flawed but relatable characters, and well-crafted story make this book one that's hard to put down even after you read the last page." Kristy Bromberg, "New York Times" bestselling author of the Driven Trilogy
"Forbidden yet sweet. "Shuttergirl" will make you believe that love has the power to break down all barriers. CD Reiss shows us her sweet side, but still manages to keep things sexy as hell." Claire Conteras, "New York Times" bestselling author of "There Is No Light In Darkness"
"Tender romance, smart writing. A total winner. Smart and romantic with characters you will root for until the end. I'm already looking forward to reading this book again. A story rich with tenderness and romance, written with the intelligence and wit that is all CD Reiss. I loved everything about Shuttergirl!" Mia Sheridan, "New York Times" bestselling author of the Sign of Love series
"A confident, badass heroine and a swoon worthy, good guy find each other in CD Reiss's latest contemporary romance. It's a Hollywood affair with more colors of reality than fairytale, depicting an honest and endearing paparazzi meets movie star relationship that captures all the swoon and flutters of the best love stories. With strikingly beautiful prose and the contrasting gritty, vivid Los Angeles setting, "Shuttergirl" is Reiss's finest work yet." Laurelin Paige, "New York Times" bestselling author of the Fixed Trilogy"

PRAISE FOR CD REISS

About the Author

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up, she's at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it gave her a big enough ego to try her hand at novels. She'll tell you all about it out back, where a cord of wood awaits.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

The reviews this book has received plus all the hype piqued my interest. I have never read any CD Reiss before but she has been on my TBR for quite some time. So I waited for book 2 to be released before delving in as I can't deal with cliff hangers if the next book isn't readily available. There is a lot of acclaim for this authors writing so to read this book was a no brainer.

The first half of the book hooked my like a drug, I was sucked in. Although right from the get go I felt I was missing something. Why would your wife suddenly wake up one day and leave a dear John letter? It didn't make sense. The book starts off a current day and switches to times in the past but it flits between his time as a Dom with a sub called Serena and the time he first met his wife and the development of their relationship. There were times when I felt confused at which point in time I was reading.

The book was initially told from Adams POV switching to Diane's half way through; and that there lies the problem. I felt if it had been dual POV all the way through I might have been able to connect to the characters better. The writing for me was missing something, it felt clinical, matter of fact. It's difficult because I can't pinpoint precisely what was missing.

Once I started to read from Diane's POV a few things started to fall into place but by this time I had fallen in to a bit of a funk. I totally understood the reasons now why Diane did what she did. But came a little too late. I had started to dislike Diane all the more.

For me Adam didn't make a convincing Dom, he was supposed to be a hard task master, Could deliver pleasure and pain like no other yet. It was a lifestyle he wanted to leave behind. Yet it came across like something he had dabbled in previously...

Took me an awful long time to get into this very steamy storyline. Quite a weak plot. Adam a Dom falls in love with Diana. She doesn't know about his likes! She wants out. He doesn't. They agree to 30days of experimental exercises. So far the story is on day 30. If you cut out the sexual description, the volume would be less than a quarter dense. Not my best choice.

Wow! Just wow!! The status quo has changed for this what most would call a regular marriage, that is for all intents & purposes 'over'. But it's far from done! Adam has other ideas for Diana with surprising results. This book has the most well written detail of the D/s relationship in the making that I have read to date. It's descriptive, powerful & intense. Love how it switches from Adam's to Diana's POV half way through, giving both main characters a voice without talking over each other. If you're looking for something more realistic in the D/s lifestyle genre, then this is the book. I couldn't put it down to sleep. To say I am anticipating the second book is an understatement!!

A good read from an author that appears to have a great understanding of the D/s relationship. It seemed very real, as did the feelings of the characters.

I enjoyed following Adam and Diana's story, and would like to know more about Stefan and Serena's. I have to admit I struggled a tiny bit to get into the story initially but I'm so glad I stuck with it.

Spicy with a lot of twists, sexy and explicit. Already bought the second part, can't wait for the battle to commence between Dom and sub.
