Therefore actually 5 stars, but totally unacceptable is the fact,
that they put these sticky, almost impossible to remove ISBN-tags on this book.
I spend have an hour on each book trying to get them off.
As a result I had scratch marks on the nice leather cover.
Totally unacceptable and unbelievable that these stupid non-removable price/ISBN tags are still in use.

Nice, warm brown-color bonded leather makes it a pleasure to hold the book in your hands. The weight is just right -- substantial, but no too heavy. The binding is amazing -- the book opens beautifully, and will lie flat when open. Pages are gilded all around. The acid-neutral light ivory paper is of superb quality. The type face is easy on the eyes. The margins are not too narrow. The book has classy looking marbled end-papers. And to have Mark Twain's five novels in one book for such a reasonable price is great. The novels are:
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer;
The Prince and the Pauper;
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn;
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court;
The Tragedy of Pudd'nhead Wilson.
I think that overall the Canterbury Classics collection deserves much praise. Last but not least, these books must look very beautiful together on a shelf as part of home decor.
I purchased this as a Christmas present for my youngest daughter so that she would have a collection of stories to keep and to cherish from one of America's best loved and most famous authors. The book is leather bound and well made and will last forever if kept well.
Anyone who wants to begin a study of Twain's works cannot go wrong here. His most famous works are in the volume and it is perfect for whiling away a lazy afternoon or for chasing away the blues. It is a pity that Amercia today does not really possess such an author whose wit, wisdom and sense of social justice comes into play in a way with words.
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
The Prince and the Pauper
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court
The Tragedy of Pudd'nhead Wilson
I do not intend to review those individual novels here, since if you're buying this volume of classics you probably already have read one or more of these novels. I am replacing several paperback books with this leather-bound edition, which looks much nicer on the bookshelves. These are novels that I will read over and over, and that is my criteria for books that deserve a permanent place on my crowded bookshelves.
A handsome addition to my collection of leather-bound classics at a surprisingly affordable price.
