Mark Whiteley MS FRCS(Gen) is a recognised world expert in varicose veins and venous disease in the legs. Mark is a consultant vascular surgeon who trained at St. Bartholomew's Hospital in London (1981-1986) and who was a lecturer in vascular surgery at Oxford University (1995-1998).
Dissatisfied with how varicose veins, venous leg ulcers and other venous diseases were treated, Mark set up The Whiteley Clinic in 2001 - a specialist vein unit to research venous disease and treat patients with varicose veins, venous leg ulcers and other vein problems.
Mark performed the first endovenous varicose vein operation in the UK in March 1999 which started the current endovenous revolution. As an inventor, researcher and teacher, Mark is now putting his knowledge and experience into books - the first being published in 2011.
