Very interesting... it's a good premise, would like to know how much is based on historical and archeological fact. I know a bit of Egyptian history so recognise the validity of those bits, and am willing for the sake of argument (or writers' licence) to go along with the rest. If you don't like detail however, this is not for you! Nice bedtime reading....

This was ok- a novel based on fact but it doesn't seem to know what it is. A lot of phrases repeated and tha made up 'prayers' to the gods can be omitted- far too much space taken up by this- glad it was free as I wouldn't have paid for it. Ending a bit naff.

In many ways I loved this epic tale of ancient Egypt which mixes fact with fiction. The characters are believable and the settings credible. I had an inkling about how the story would end and this turned out to be correct.
The language used, however, proved to be a stumbling block that detracted from the story. Phrases like "she unclosed her eyes" just don't ring true and, in my view, are redundant. I also feel that some editing would help, though I appreciate this is not always possible for a new writer.
I look forward to more tales from this author yet hope the next ones are tightened up a little.
All in all, I'll give it a 4.5.

While I enjoyed the vivid description of Egypt under the pharaohs I found the book to be rather too long. The ending was a foregone conclusion as the story revolves around king 'Tut'. whose early death is well documented. I would have given an extra star but for the regular poor spelling and worse grammar, this book really would benefit from a further edit. It was free so I'm not complaining too much and wish Lynda Gardner much success in the future.
