Product Description

Synopsis

Despite a relentless series of medical setba cks, including a well-publicised battle with cancer, Mario L emieux led the Pittsburgh Penguins to two Stanley Cups and w on six NHL scoring titles before retiring in 1997 at the age of 31. '

From the Author

Marc Serota photographed the book and comments
Covering Mario Lemieux night in and night out during his final season was an honor and a privilage. A player like Mario is sensational for a photographer because his every move is simply picturesque. Mario is a gentleman and I am proud to call him friend. It was my Marino book that led me to Mario and my new book Elway.

Top Customer Reviews

Format: Hardcover
Mario Lemieux: The Final Period is a very nice book, mainly made up of photos of "Le Magnifique". The book has few words, but countless wonderful photographs. It features many game-action photos of Mario during his years as a Pittsburg Penguin, as well as personal photos of him and his family, and even hockey action photos of Mario before his NHL playing days. A must have for a Mario Lemieux fan.
