Product Description

Size Name:10 Watt

Product Description

The Marina 10W compact heaters are what they say "compact", submersible heaters for use in indoor aquariums. They are designed to reach and maintain the set temperature of 26c (78f) without any adjustments needed (dependant on ambient room temperature). The exterior is made of a tough polymer so that it will not crack or break like traditional glass sleeve heaters. Includes an LED running lamp and suction cup for easy and secure installation.

Indications

NOTE:

  • The heater will not switch on if it is out of water.
  • If the aquarium is situated in a room where temperatures fluctuate or in a cold room, then a 25W pre-set mini heater will be required.
  • If there is no pilot light showing when the heater is warming up the aquarium, then it may be faulty and should be replaced.

I've bought the C10 and C25 several times and recommended Marina Compact Heaters to over a dozen friends and family and none have failed me or them... I wholeheartedly recommend these heaters for your aquarium.

I've had several tanks in the past and currently have 2. I've used a number of heaters including top branded ones from the likes of Interpet. Nothing beats branded and established manufacturers but from my experience, glass heaters are very finicky.

These aquarium heaters are very compact, unobtrusive and ideal for small (aka nano) tanks. I'm a big fan of nano tanks and have helped my family and some friends get theirs started and when it comes to heaters, I ALWAYS make sure it's one of these.

RULE OF THUMB for which size to buy... For every litre of water you'll want 1 watt of heating. So if you have a 10L tank, you'll want at least a 10 watt heater. There's no issue if you buy a more powerful heater (like the 17 of 25 watt) for a 10L tank but if you get an underpowered heater (e.g. 10 watt heater for a 25L tank) then you'll likely find that the heater stays on all the time and struggles to get the temperature up to 26 degrees. Worse still, the heater is likely to fail quickly as it's working hard for long periods which is something it's not designed to do.

Some people in the reviews are complaining their tanks aren't getting heated up. Although it's possible there are faulty units, from my experience some people tend to buy a lower wattage heater than is recommended just to save £1-£3. Also, a lot of people don't know where the most effective place to put the heater is and make common mistakes... An aquarium heater should be placed near where there is a flow of water such as the filter.

I purchased this tank for my Fluval Edge 23l tank. It fits pefectly in the tank thanks to it being fully submersible, and doesn't take up much room at all. In a black Edge the heater would practically disappear. The light is nice and visible even in sunlight so you can tell when its on. So far after two weeks it is keeping the tank at a perfect 26C.

This heater is fab. It was the one recommended for the tank I bought. When it all Arrived I found that at the back of the filter there is a section for it so it's all hidden away and keeps the temperature regular

Great little heater. Just put in the back of the fish tank and plug it in.
The light illuminates when the heater is heating and the light goes out once it reaches its correct temperature.
Very neat and slim design.
I would recomend this heater to others with a rating of 10/10.

I brought this heater for my 19 liter guppy aquarium, it's small and fits in the back of my tank perfectly, you wouldn't even know it's there. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and it keeps the temperature at 26 degrees, just like it advertises. The led light is very handy as it lets me know when it's on. I would definitely recommend this heater to a friend!

Felt the need to write a review for the heater after seeing the other 2. This heater is perfect for a small tropical tank. One of the reviewers commented on the instructions not being clear & i can see what they mean about the picture but the instructions do say it is submersible, and it is! Fully! As for saying it's cold to the touch, that's a good thing! ..unless you want fried fish! As long as it heats the water, what's the problem? ..and it does, but it takes a few hours to reach max temp. I'm very impressed with it's 'plug-in & leave' ease of use & it's low power usage & effectiveness. As for the fluctuating temperature mentioned in the other review. The device will only reach and stay at 26 degrees in a centrally heated (21c avg.) room. It clearly states in the instructions that it will only heat 5c above room temp (What do you expect for 17watts?) & 26c is the maximum. All in all a great little inexpensive heater.

Perfect size for my starter aquarium. No issues thus far. Fish seem happy and water temperature is in range required for keeping tetra fishes (tested with a digital thermometer). Only downside is the price I paid. This can be found cheaper web (do a search on google) but as a prime member I got this item delivered free the next day.
