I hadn't realised (until Daryl Hall told me and 3,000 other people at the London Apollo) that this album had been put out on their own label, and that consequently many Hall & Oates fans might not have added it to their collection.
If that's the case, I would recommend that you make up for lost time and buy this album.
There is a good mix of tunes - all typical H&O stuff - including the ballad "If a promise ain't enough", which is as fine as any from their previous works.
It's not the funkiest or most soulful Hall & Oates collection but I doubt that fans of this durable duo will be disappointed.

any Hall & Oates fan must have this cd. There is some wonderful stuff on here, stand outs are "romeo is bleeding", "the sky is falling"; "promise ain't enough" and the brilliant " throw the roses away". The latter is one of the best songs they have ever done, with some beautiful sax.It sounds a little like "the end of the road" by Boys2Men. As is usual Hall dominates, singing nearly all the songs. I love his voice, but I really like Oates' voice too and would like him to sing lead a bit more. That is my only criticism of a great album.

I love Hall & Oates and have most of their work but half of this album sounds like British group 'Take That' on a bad day. The only track with oomph is 'Want to'. Other highlights are the lovely title track and 'throw the roses away' whilst John Oates contributes the superb 'war of words'. The rest is bad bad boy band territory. Shame.
