Ideal for dynamic shooting. The Manfrotto 190XPRO4 is a 4-section aluminium tripod with enhanced features.
Frame your shots creatively with the 90 degrees centre column mechanism that effortlessly extends for vertical or horizontal shooting. This versatile tripod is suitable for a wide range of photography applications. The horizontal column mechanism is housed within the tripod's top casting for compactness and transportability and is easily and quickly extended whenever you need it. Switching between vertical and horizontal column orientation requires no disassembly and can be done with a camera attached.
Compact and lightweight, the 4-section legs of the Manfrotto 190XPRO4 feature a horizontal column mechanism and 4-section legs to maximise transportability.
Thanks to the Quick Power Lock levers that block and unblock each section, the legs are quick to extend and adjust. Designed for added comfort and strength, they allow for single-handed leg locking. From its folded position, the leg sections can easily be released in a single and fluid movement. The QPL lever design also offers more powerful locking of each section, making the tripod more stable and rigid than other traditional lever designs. Intuitive and ergonomic leg angle selectors allow each leg to independently adjust to any of the pre-set angles, allowing for considerable positioning freedom.
A bubble level is built into the top of the centre column for precise framing. Rotate it freely around the centre column to ensure that it isn’t obscured by the mounted head and camera and that the camera controls are free.
The top casting of the Manfrotto 190XPRO4 has an easy link connector for supporting a photo or video accessory (such as an LED light, flash, reflector or another piece of equipment) on an extending arm or bracket. This transforms the tripod into a practical mobile studio. The Manfrotto 190XPRO4 is made in Italy.

After much deliberating and watching countless YT videos on each product, I took the plunge and bought this. The main advantage was the ability to turn the column horizontal. The way it slides up and across is pure engineering genius, its also easy to set up and is ideal for doing low level or macro work.
The top of the column has a rotating spirit level to ensure your tripod is on an absolutely flat level surface before shooting. The clips on the tripod legs are easily lockable/unliockable. Making setting it up simple and quick. The 190 tripod is available in Aluminium or carbon fibre variants, mine is the aluminium version. I bought this over the CF version purely down to price. Its clearly heavier than the CF version but I can only guess that this is a good thing and will give it a good wind resistance when out and about.
Two of the legs feature a hard rubber sleeve to let you carry it in some comfort during any cold spells. Making your hand less likely to freeze against bare metal.
The black and red colour scheme really compliment each other on this tripod too. In the hand it feels heavy but thats to be expected, it isn't a travel tripod and it doesn't pretend to be. Like my ballhead review, This tripod will last me many many years and probably all weather conditions the weather can throw at it..
Again it wasn't cheap but this will last me many years. The only negative I can find is that a tripod bag wasn't included, or at least a shoulder strap to carry it. These can be bought separately but I feel that this is something that should come with the tripod, especially with the price it's selling at.
My first suggestion to all of you is go and weigh your camera including your largest lens. Manfrotto claim this tripod will support up to 7 kilos but that does NOT include the "HEAD" so you may find like me, that the blurb it is very misleading and your valuable equipment may possibly be at serious risk.
Like so many products today, the new version is in my opinion is never as good as the original. The basics of a tripod are simple, to hold your camera safely and resists the elements. Manfrotto in my opinion have achieved neither this thing, it is too flimsy to support my DSLR and lens securely in even slightly adverse conditions and yet it is very expensive for what it is.
Amazon possibly has others that can support a similar weight and cost less. I have an older Manfrotto 055 that is very good and solid. It has to be!!! If its light it will NOT be safe in poor weather!! that's the trade off, its simple physics!! To Manfrotto I say stop the gimmicks and get back to basics. make us a strong solid tripod that will do the job properly and stop charging extortionate amounts of money for flimsy poor products!!
To all of you photographers don't be misled by the "Carbon Fiber" gimmick I see on some other versions of this tripod, its very light and VERY expensive and in my humble opinion is simply pointless for a tripod. If a tripod is very light in weight it means it will NOT be able to resist the wind especially with a heavy camera and lens making the whole thing top heavy. To Amazon, can you please source some high quality professional tripods, they are expensive but so is my camera equipment!!
