I came across the link for this book on Facebook. The author was being recommended by another author. I read the book description and thought that sounds like a good story.

I like the thought of us all having our own guardian angel and there being life after death. Who knows what waits for us 'on the other side'. Eve Paludan has written a good story as an introduction to Cody Bliss, Angel Detective where he has to solve his own death.

I wont go into the details of the book because reading the synopsis of the book gives a far better overview than I could do. What I will say is, its well written, keeps you wanting to read more and not put it down. The characters are great and with any heart warming story, you want them to be happy and overcome the tragedies in their lives.

It makes you feel good and at the risk of sounding cheesy, it makes you want to be a better person and show your loved ones that you really do love them. We can get caught up in everyday work and house stuff but its good to take some time to appreciate what you have and how you would feel if you lost that!

I like books with inspirational messages and this one has a good few of them.

I recommend this book and will look forward to reading all about Codys next assignment.

Well done Eve

Love all of her book and this one. Not a new concept but well thought out, if a little mushier than previous books by Eve.

4.0 out of 5 stars Do you believe? 6 Dec. 2016

Cody died, but in Heaven he has a request t come back as a guardian angel. He is denied that request, but given a different job. He will be coming back, but his job will be as a mortal in another body trying to solve the questions behind his own death. This is a great story, especially for me, as I live in Kalispell, Montana. The area where this story takes place. The author does a great job combining suspense with spiritual and supernatural.I enjoyed this story written by an amazing author.

I've enjoyed other books by Ms. Paludan much more. This one dragged on & on, was repetitive, preachy.
Intellectually it left me very frustrated. I was expecting something more like her Witch Detectives or Brotherhood of the Blade or others of her series with more substance, direction and better developed characters.
Ms. Paludan drops some of the popular psychology cliches re grief, addiction, spirituality/religion, sexuality, but none with any depth or apparent conviction.
Somehow it just didn't pull together for me. I found myself skipping pages at a time, groaning when characters were overly self pitying, self righteous, judgmental or accusatory. I'm almost sorry I purchased the next in the series before reading this one. I sincerely HOPE I enjoy the next Angel Detectives book more - after all, I paid for it.
2.0 out of 5 stars So-so… 20 Jun. 2017

~It’s almost unfair for me to review this book. I could not even finish it. Detectives, as angles, from Heaven…I know murder mystery main characters are typically someone unusually…school teacher, cook, grandmother…this was just too far out for me. I also thought the character was rather one-dimensional.
~The story just sorta plodded along until I couldn’t take any more.
I could only give it 2-Stars…’cause I just didn’t like it…it wasn’t even 3-Star okay enough to finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Heavenly Read 2 Aug. 2013

As a HUGE Fan of Eve Paludan anytime one of her books comes up on my Kindle IT WILL be read! What a heartfelt story this is. I have always (and those of you who know me know its true) truly believed Angels walk the earth in human form sometimes they know it ..sometimes they don't. In "The Man who fell from the Sky", This is exactly what happens, Cody a loving Husband to Mariah, goes missing on Christmas Morning, presumed to be dead (no spoiler here ... he is) he is now an Angel Detective and is sent back to earth to find out what happened to him, how he died and who killed him, to do this he must go into the human form of J.R. a man who spent time in Prison for Murder and is now a firefighter, and just a lost soul, its hard to believe but you will LOVE J.R. (nope you will not get out of me how you love a murderer), J.R. and Cody are aware of each other and work together as J.R. literally falls into Mariah's life. The twists and turns, and the faith, but not pushy is just inspiring, the good verses evil and the SHOCKING reveal of the killer left me just saying WOW!! AND a touching love story comes out of it all ... This is the first that will be a series in "The Angel Detectives" I can tell you now I will be reading EVERY one!!! I give this book 6 angel wings (cause you can't have 5) What a Touching Story! THANK YOU Eve for touching my faith again <3

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this story! 20 May 2013

An intriguing, supernatural story of love and change and moving forward. After Cody's death he requests to be assigned as guardian angel to Mariah, but his request is denied.... sort of. Instead he is returned to her, alive and mortal once again but in a different body, charged with helping her move on and also with finding the truth about who killed him.

I LOVED this story! The writing is fantastic, the action is fast paced, and the dialogue is totally believable. The fact that it has horses in it doesn't hurt my feelings any either. :D It's also plenty long enough to keep you entertained for days on end. If this is #1 I can't wait to read #2!
