This is not the worst book ever written on dating, I am sure, but it is certainly not one of the best. It does not provide great insight into the male psyche and, although I am perservering with it, I am finding it almost adolescant in content and style. Reading through it, I am reminded of some of the conversations I overhear in the school I work in. And by that I am referring to the author's horrible style of writing, choice of language and the content. I prefered 'The Rules'. Or just by a good romance novel - everyone needs a bit of escapism every once in a while.

Every woman should read this book. Ladies, it's back to basics time. This books repeats everything your mother told, or should have told you, when you first started dating. There's a reason for this... the advice is great and it works. If you want to regain control of your dating life, feel good about yourself and stop waiting by the telephone, buy it.

Sorry but I couldn't use any advice in this book. I think most women would have to change their entire nature and body language to follow this advice. Very, very unrealistic. If you want to be more successful with men I would buy "Why Men Love Bitches: From Doormat to Dreamgirl - A Woman's Guide to Holding Her Own in a Relationship" by Sherry Argov, which is very empowering and offers genuinely good advice.

I've been reading a whole host of these books to try to glean some pearls of wisdom to help those with relationship problems. This, without any doubt, is by far the worst, unless you have not gone through puberty yet or are an android. The message is quite brutal in its simplicity: you must not be insecure in any way. Confidence is everything, and any weakness on your part is a guarantee of rejection. Quite what you do once you have met your partner and become inclined to be an actual human being with doubts, fears, concerns and conflicts is well beyond the scope of this book. From my perspective as a counsellor, it's always very worrying to see genuine conditions such as depression and anxiety berated for being unsexy and a sign of weakness. A book either dangerously undermining or ridiculously childish depending on how your life is going at the moment.
