Mammy Walsh wittily narrates the book and begins with a brief introduction to her family, mainly her five daughters, who have appeared in previous novels. This is swiftly followed by Mammy Walsh's A-Z of the Walsh family - this is a really funny section relating to all things relevant to Mammy Walsh's family life.
To whet the appetite, the book concludes with a sample chapter of The Mystery of Mercy Close.
This book is a good read with plenty of laugh out loud moments and worthy of five stars for entertainment.

The fifth book in the series is Marian Keye's new book and as it was six years from the fourth book 'Anybody Out There' was published, the author wrote this very short book which I thoroughly enjoyed and it was an aid to help the reader memories of the Walsh family to be refreshed. There is nothing new in the short book as it was just quick notes based on the letters of the alphabet as the first letter of the subjects which Mammy Walsh was speaking of the past history which took place within the pages of the earlier books.
I loved reading this short e-book mainly because it brought back to me why I love Marian Keyes as an author, her humour which she puts across through her writing so vividly is so funny I was giggling so hard I was getting a few funny looks and now I am so excited about continuing on with the next book in the series The Mystery of Mercy Close.
Mammy Walsh is a fantastic character and a true Irish 'Mammy' who speaks as she sees it and when she was putting her thoughts across on items such as fake tan(I will never look at an Outspan Orange in the same way ever again without thinking of her)also the next time I hear of a certain area of our bodies being waxed Mammy Walsh's description will be the first thing I think off.
I highly recommend Mammy Walsh's A-Z of the Walsh Family by Marian Keyes as an excellent read and if you want to remind yourself of why we all love to read Marian Keye's books based on the very funny but yet very loveable Walsh family this is just a quick fresh look at the family. You will not learn anything new as the author has mainly went through each of her previous books and given us quick points of history of the family. But one thing I will say you will laugh at each item Mammy Walsh is speaking of and if you are anything like me I do not know why but I could hear the Dublin accent in my head as Marian Keyes is wonderful at getting the Irish Mammy just right! and I should know as I had one.
Saying that, it's a giggle though - great for travel.
This little book would be amusing to read if you weren't familiar with the Walsh family as it is amusing on its own, but as a companion to the above mentioned novels it is wonderful.
