I bought the Making tracks pack for the lakes 3 years ago and we have done 9 out of the 10 and thought that it was excellent. So keen to captilize on the kids newly found enthuasim for the great outdoors,I was eager to get this pack as we live in Yorkshire. We have discovered Brimham rocks now, our favourite jaunt. The kids adore climbing all the mis shapen weathered rocks, and even help to pack the picnic beforehand by following the rock bun recipe in the leaflet. Last week we went to Bolton Abbey and was stunned by the beauty of the place. There was something for everyone to do, and the leaflet keeps the interest going for the kids whilst we spotted a kingfisher as suggested in the second walk. Our 8 year son guided us up the hill to a quirky cafe called Buffers coffee shop, a place we would never have found without the pack. Fantastic homemade produce and a model railway to interact with upstairs.I have recommended these two packs to handful of friends with kids and everyone has been as postive response. I highly recommend you buy this and the lakes pack, you'll not be disappointed.

We have tried several of these walks now and have all been impressed with every single one, no matter what the weather. The locations are great and the directions are quite straightforward for our 8 year old to lead. I wish there were more of these for other parts of the country. There seem to be two others as yet, for the Peak district and the Lake district.

Although we have only done one of the walks so far, it was fab. Through woods, walking by a river with lots of pebbles and stones so was great for paddling. My children aren't great walkers but this route was so interesting that they forgot to moan about tired legs!! Great day for all of the family and we can't wait to do the rest.

When I saw these books (or rather collection of booklets in one box) I bought the two nearest to home as I loved the idea of them - Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales. We've done a number of walks now from both books and the girls love them (9,6). On some walks the info is very detailed in description in parts and then not as descriptive at other sections of the walk - which I actually like as it makes you check to ensure you are on the route of the author - in other words you do still need to keep a check on the instructions the kids are shouting out!

Inside each box are thin books; one for each walk so you only carry the one 8 or 10 page booklet with you on the walk and not all 12 or 13 walks which come in the box. There is also a summary booklet giving a summary of each walk; miles, area etc with tips of what to take on your walk and things to remember.

I plan to add the Peaks & Lakes to our collection next.

They also make great gifts too.
