Wonderful read - lovely story, very sexy and thoughtful with the handling of issues that could wrong in such a partnership. I really enjoyed reading this and was so sad when I finished (not because the book was sad but because I had finished it and I wanted more!)

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads~~

This is a really thought provoking and highly enjoyable read. It reminds us all that no judgments should be made until you stand (or sit) in someone's shoes. It is by turns hot, emotional, fun, soul searchingly deep and dramatic. The pressures from outside the menage build just as they do from the inside. The battering that the three take emotionally, mentally and to an extent physically rises to a crescendo, leaving the reader very much on the edge of their seat.

I loved it and really didn't want it to end. Thank you Ms Matthews.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you like menage - This will be 5 Stars for you! 1 July 2015
By MizTaken - Published on Amazon.com

Man, oh man, oh man!

I encourage potential readers to read this review in full, and not just take the star-rating as a factor in deciding whether to read this book. There is a very clear reason why this book is 3 stars instead of 5 for me, and that is because I hate the ending. But it is simply a matter of taste and mine may differ from yours. Everything else about this book was a solid five stars.

I’m not a fan of menage and this is the only menage story I’ve read. But let me tell you – if there was one scenario where I could kinda , sorta get behind a threesome, this scenario is it. R.C. Matthews does a wonderful job taking the readers on an emotional and sensual journey. All three characters are likeable and relatable and anyone with a decent heart can’t help but feel for all three of them and bite their fingernails down to nubs, waiting to find out what happens in the end.

Jake is a man struggling to maintain his masculinity after an accident paralyzes him. Matthews takes us into his psyche and the torturous inferiority he feels compared to his former self. Your heart aches for him.

Jessie, his wife, agonizes over his depression and her helplessness. She would do anything to make him happy again, to make him love life again.

Chad, his best friend, feels the same, though he employs a little more tough love than Jessie.

Jake asks something of them that leads them all down an emotional path with very high-highs, and weepingly low-lows. Lines are blurred and even crossed.

There is suspense, angst, violence, sex, laughter and tears, and I loved it all – until the end. I can’t say why as it will give away the plot, but I so wished for a different outcome. If I hadn’t enjoyed the other 99% of the story so much, I would probably rate this lower (that’s how much I don’t like the ending), but because Matthews did such an extraordinary job making someone like me (a person who steers far wide of stories like this) fully engage and invest in this tale – she gets 3 stars.

I recommend it for anyone who likes ménage and/or blurred lines. I guarantee they'd rate it a solid FIVE!

4.0 out of 5 stars Unique take on menage, loved it! 31 Jan. 2016
By Heather - Published on Amazon.com

I was intrigued by the unique premise of this book. It's a menage, but not at all typical for the genre.

Jacob and Jessica's life hasn't been the same since the accident that left his legs paralysed. Particularly their once scorching sex life. When Jake comes up with the idea to start a menage between himself, his wife and his best friend; hot shot FBI agent, Chad, no one thinks it's a good idea, except Jake.

Turns out Jake is pretty smart. This is a menage that works, due to the personalities of all involved, opening them all to new possibiblites. Along the way, Jake gets back his confidence, Chad learns to risk his heart again, and Jessie realizes love can mean more than one thing.

I really enjoyed most of this book, though I got very frustrated at the 48% mark, when Jessie does something that is a HUGE trigger for me and almost made me quit the book. I'm glad I continued, though, and while the ending was a bit too pat, this is a helluva a book. I also have to commend the author for tackling a subject like this, in this way. It takes courage to follow through with a story that you know may only appeal to a very narrow audience.

Kudos for taking that plunge! I def recommend taking a chance on this steamy, but surprisingly heart-warming story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Synergy in Menage - When the relationship of 3 is stronger and bigger than that of any two. 4 Oct. 2016
By MainelyStories - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
If you can only read one book - This is the book that you should read this week/month/year! - this is one of my strongest recommendations. I am a fan of a good ménage but not just a ménage for sex. More than anything this is a demonstration of synergy when the whole - the relationship of Jessica, Jacob and Chad creates much stronger characters than the relationship of any couple involving these three. This is a relationship ménage.

Jacob is paralyzed as the result of a ski accident less than a year prior. He not able to stand or walk but he is still able to function sexually. He is wallowing just a bit in his situation and in a bit of despair regarding many things but specifically his ability to have spontaneous, wild sex any time and any place. Jessica, his wife, is totally supportive and willing to do anything to make Jacob feel better and love live. Enter Chad, Jake's best friend. Chad isn't going to give Jake any time to feel sorry for himself and treats him as he did before the accident.

This author is new to me and now added to my one-click list. "R.C. Matthews does a wonderful job taking the readers on an emotional and sensual journey".

The characters are interesting, loveable and you can't help but want them all to find happily ever after although that might not be so easy since Chad is an FBI agent in a very dangerous role. He has been Jake's best friend forever and ready to be strong and put his own feelings aside to bring Jake back to living life - tubing, swimming, shooting a gun and all sorts of activities to regain his manhood...including facilitating sex, in a proxy role and eventually in a ménage. This is a mystery, thriller, erotic romance novel with a little violence and lots of angst, great romance, sex and big love. I recommend it for anyone who likes ménage and/or blurred lines. I guarantee they'd rate it a solid FIVE!
5.0 out of 5 stars An Incredible Read!!! 5 Oct. 2016

This book was a roller coaster ride of strong emotions. The characters were drawn so well that the reader was fully invested and cared for them. The love and friendship went so deep that you cannot help but be moved.

In addition to Jake’s story, we also are brought into Chad’s story as an FBI agent trying to bring down key mob characters. As those around him are put into real danger, the tension and suspense become relentless.

I truly did not want the book to end. It was wonderfully and sensitively written and really touched my heart. Do not miss this wonderful story. It’s not necessarily what you expect it to be.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not the kind of menage....... 8 Oct. 2016
By Amazon Accustomed born to read - Published on Amazon.com

I was expecting the typical kind of menage but boy was I wrong. I'm not got to rehash the story when you have obviously already checked it out, or you wouldn't be here now. The story was different enough to keep and hold my interest throughout the book. I prefer the menages I read to be with three straight people. Not that I don't ever read books where the men are bi. It's just not my preference. I loved the humor, deep respect and long time friendship the two men had for each other. It couldn't have worked any other way. As for Jake's wife, let's say she went way beyond what she needed to, to be there and support her husband. I'm not sure I could have done it. I guess all the right pieces just fell into place for them and I need to remember it's a book! Now let me explain what would have made the book better, for me. Chad is an FBI agent. He's a witness in a case against the mafia bosses son. We all know the mafia doesn't play nice, so, you would think Chad would be watching his back, front and everywhere in between. Expecting to be shut up before he could testify. There should have been some incidents where the mafia was trying to keep Chad from testifying. But there was nothing. Nada. It was only slightly mentioned. I was expecting more more suspense. A shoot out or explosion would have been nice. It's not a book I would re-read but I would recommend it
