Reid left his home town of a Hope for the bright lights of city life in Boston. A successful architect he's home temporarily to help his brothers bring new life to to the old mercantile in town. He has an easy going friendship with Sam the local florist that just kind of escalates into a warm relationship that fulfils their mutual needs. Sam has always found Reid attractive but knows his life is in Boston but there's no harm in two mature adults just kicking back and sharing good times , is there? Well maybe it's not as uncomplicated as this pair believe because the more time they spend together the more they just seem to fit! Reid isn't staying though and Sam refuses to be the one to ruin the fun but maybe not everything is set in stone. Will Reid follow his head or listen to his heart?
I really liked Sam. She is kind, loyal and very independent. Reid is the only one of his family to leave Hope and bravely make a new and very productive life for himself and I have to admire that. What's even better was seeng the love he shared with his family and how they all support each other. I really enjoyed seeing this couple in my minds eye get to know each other and it was easy to see the changes in Reid particularly as this story progressed. He isn't staying and yet is clearly falling back in love with the life he left behind and Sam only enriches his experience. Ok there's not really any action or drama here but it's a story that's warm and made me smile. There's a wee bit of emotion as we learn more about Sam's family and it was poignant to this reader as it's something very close to home. What's really had me entertained though was the bond Reid made with a dog he named Not My Dog! Very funny dialogue as he attributed his own inner monologue to the cute Not My Dog ! I can think of two bachelors in Hope who I'd love to read more about and if a sweet romance appeals to you then this story will certainly fit the bill.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review
In this wonderful tale we meet Samantha who owns and runs her own florist business and pours her heart and soul into every creation she makes. As well as running her business she looks after her grandmother who brought her up from an early agency her parents died. Living in Hope fate is always playing a game and her life has its path , which has thrown Sexy Reid McCormack an artiste the renovating a building in Hope which happens to be opposite her shop.
Sam has a great interest on how the building work is going and manages to get Reid around her house for dinner to get her hands on his blueprints but lands herself wanting more !!!!!
After a couple of meetings their passion takes over, but Sam is not looking for temporary filling, she wants her Prince Charming and her happy ever after. Reid on the other hand as built his life away from Hope, his home is in Boston and he is fighting his feelings for Sam.
When Sam grandmother's health comes into question he is by her side and supporting her and taking every moment with her, but he is holding back on a life with Sam which they both deserve and that where I leave you to grab a copy and find out more of this delightful read.

Best of all Burton includes the continuing stories of past couples and gives the reader a preview of the couples to come in the her future "Hope" books. I don't understand many of the more negative comments from others. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am so looking forward to the next one. I sometimes think that there are reviewers who just seem to pick at nothing in a book showing this reader that they have unrealistic expectations. Make Me Stay is simply a really good, enjoyable read. I hope this review encourages readers to trust in Jaci Burton and know you really can't go wrong with one of her books.
Reid is an architect with his own thriving business in Boston. He has come home to Hope to restore the historic Mercantile building downtown. He loves being back with his brothers. But he only plans to be in Hope long enough to finish this project and then go back to Boston where his business and his life really are.
Samantha is a Hope native and has her own flower shop downtown that has been passed down to her from her grandmother. Claire her grandmother has been doing well and is active with her friend Faith but little things are happening that cause Samantha some concern .
Unbeknownst to them both love has a way of changing plans. Reid keeps telling himself he is going back to Boston and what he and Samantha are having is just fun. Samantha doesn't feel she can be with anyone as she is responsible for her grandmother and doesn't want to 'saddle' anyone else with her problems.
So now that I have given you a taste of things happening in Hope, what are you waiting for.....go out and get the book and read it!
Sam owner of Hope's florist, single woman taking care of her ailing Grammy Claire but who has caught the eye of Reid.
Reid who family owns a Ranch in Hope but Reid is only here to rebuild The Mercantile before he goes back to Boston where his company is.
But what Reid & Sam realize the two of them enjoy each other's company but where they both think there relationship is a casual one because their lives seem so different what happens is feelings develop and all you are hoping is that the two of them can find that HEA if they both take the jump.
The Hope Series is most definitely heartwarming and the small town feel is awesome. The lives in Hope come alive when you read each of their stories. If you are looking for not only a book but a
Series that will leave you with a smile on your face this is the one you don't want to miss
Reid McCormack is the youngest McCormack brother. He has a successful architectural design and construction business in Boston but has agreed to bring back the Hope, OK Mercantile building back to its former glory.
Samantha Reasor owns the local Florist that her grandmother gave her. Each time they are close they are drawn to each other and sparks zing around like lightning strikes. Reid has no intention of starting a relationship with Sam because he is going back to Boston as soon as this project is completed. Sam and Reid finally give into their passion but both know that it cannot last.
How can they find their HEA when they each have a business in different parts of the country? Don’t miss this installment – you won’t regret it.
