About the Author

I live in southern Arkansas with my husband and young daughter. There is also an insane Boston Terrier running around. I've always been a lone wolf and find my friends in books. I started writing at a young age and I haven't stopped since. Most days you can find me either glued to my laptop or my kindle. My first novel, This Beautiful Thing was an Amazon best seller for 11 weeks and a year later I'm still tickled to see people enjoy it. I may not be a huge seller but I have the best fans ever and I thank God everyday for every single one of them.

The premise for this story is not a new one. Paisley has grown up with a druggie mum who couldn't care less about her or BeeBee, her sister. Paisley comes home one day and finds her mum has died from an overdose. Almost immediately she finds someone at her door who says she is her grandmother, her mums mum. She demands both Paisley and BeeBee leave to live with her as that is where they belong. Paisley soon discovers she is rich due to a legacy left by her father.

This is where the story got a little boring for me. In comes a good looking guy in the form of Channing. He and Paisley take an instant dislike to each other, yet we all know they will end up together in the end.

As the story goes on it seems to go too quickly, and is a bit unrealistic at times. The way both Paisley and Channing seem to go off the rails at times just doesn't ring true a lot to me.

There were also quite a lot of grammar and spelling issues throughout the book which, although it didn't ruin the story, certainly detracted from it for me.

Don't get me wrong, the story will appeal to others more than it did me, as other reviews definitely show. Unfortunately this just wasn't a story which drew me in as much as others I have read.

The endings a cliffhanger, and I won't lie, it does make me interested in reading the next book. But all in all this book was a little disappointing to me.

The book description says this book is 180 pages long, but it felt twice as long to me. The high drama, just one thing after another, really dragged the story out. I didn't so much mind the push-pull between the h/H, but then it got to where it was fight, be mean, then have a misunderstanding, then kiss-make up, then back to I hate you, then I love you, then push him/her away, etc. I really felt worn out by the time I got to the last page. Besides the main couple's drama, there was also personal family drama, friend drama, grandparent drama. It was almost smothering. But if you like a lot of drama and emotional angst in your romances, this might suit you. It felt a bit melodramatic to me, over-drawn, and I didn't like the constant back and forth.

Also, this needs a good re-edit. Missing commas, misspellings, missing words from a sentence, the wrong word used sometimes. Just things that caught my attention or caused me to read a sentence again.

I do think the author had something interesting going in the beginning. And I did like some elements of this story: the high school setting, the Cinderella theme, the surly, brooding hero. Certain aspects of the story were entertaining, especially if you don't mind teenage angst and drama. And I do happen to like that, but I have to say that here it was just a little too much for me. The book does end with a complete story for the main couple, they finally get there in the end!, and it sets up the next book, Break Me, about Royal, the hero's best friend.

I found it really difficult to get through this book. I found that there is nothing more annoying than a teenage girl who thinks she's mature but is actually unbelievably immature. Some of the plot lines just didn't make sense to me and seemed to jump from one thing to another. One moment someone was nice, the next they weren't with no explanation. I also found the main character difficult to like. I'm all for confidence but some of the statements made seemed more arrogant than confident and from my experience of 17 year old girls it's not all that realistic. All in all not a fan but I did like Channing!

Was really looking forward to this book, had it wrote on my calender so I didn't miss release date...it was published early that alone is awesome.

OMG it was a he'll of a trip. Loved every single character which is shocking I always find someone to dislike! Ok so maybe I disliked Grandma ever so slightly but who can blame me really??

Paisley and Channing are perfect together loved the banter between them.

Loved Brody and Kellen and how accepting they we're of Paisley. Really want more of Kellen's story he should so be with Rachel.

Royal surprised me, very likeable and am looking forward to his and Wesley's story. I'm hoping Kellen's is thrown in there too.

What an ending who is the two in discussion...Wes & Royal...Lola & Brody...Rach & Kellen or Annabelle & Pierce??????? I know who I'm rooting for and yes I'm a sap and hoping for HEA for each and everyone of them.

Amanda Heath yet again you've wrote an amazing book.

This could have been brilliant but for me it just wasn't developed enough in the middle. There was so much hinted at but then nothing else was written about it so I wondered why it was mentioned in the first place. I think if the author had just written more it would have been really good. There needed to be more character development too.
Paisley initially lives in a trailer with a drug addled mother and toddler sister. Life doesn't look good but she knows education might be the way out. Then her mother overdoses and Paisley finds she has a new and ultra rich family. She's taken with Bee bee, her sister, by her grandmother to live with her and her grandfather. Then she meets Channing who is also ultra rich but damaged.
I did though enjoy reading it and look forward to more by Amanda Heath.
For older teenagers.
