This is karens 1st book but if I didn't no before hand I would have guessed that's shes got more out.. I loved this the storyline and character's are fantastic I loved this book I cannot wait for more from this author
Emma is a free spirit who does what she wants, and has her own personal style, which may surprise people at times. She has secrets from her past that she keeps hidden under lock and key, thus making it hard for her to put her trust in anyone.
Working at a bookstore, in between going to school, Emma is able to keep her mind somewhat distracted, until the day Daniel walks in. He’s what most would call a geek, but good god…what a HOT geek he is! He slowly breaks her out of her shell, and it’s the sweetest thing to see. Total opposites in every way, they seem to have a connection they both can’t figure out, until their pasts are revealed to one another.
I’m absolutely in love with Daniel, and his way with Emma. She’s a girl who needs someone to hold her, protect her, and just plain show her the love she’s so desperately needed in her life. They say opposites attract, and that can’t be more true with these two, and it’s inspirational in so many ways. I hope you all love their story as much as I did!
This is a book that is beautifully crafted, completely indulgent and sensationally simplistic, all the while packing a punch that you will be unable to shy away from.
Emma and Daniel are super characters, they have a depth that the author goes to great lengths to develop.
But there is an air of intrigue that surrounds them both that immediately draws you as the reader into their world.
Emma has a bit of a kick to her character, she seems streetwise, more socially aware, although not entirely comfortable in it but Daniel on the other hand came across as the quintessential shy guy.
The two of them were the sort of characters that society would normally determine should never be together but don’t they always make the most engaging of couples, this pairing is proof to us all that somewhere out there, the person that completes us is just waiting to fall into our life and no matter our preconceptions, they will find their way to us.
Together they were two halves of the whole.
Emma is living in Denmark, studying and working having left her family at home in England. Daniel is related to the owner of the bookstore where Emma works and moves into the flat next door.
As a dyslexic student Daniel who asks Emma for help tutoring him as he prepares to start his studies. It is the first tentative steps towards developing what grows into being a very comfortable friendship but was always going to morph into so much more.Read more ›
Emma and Daniels story develops slowly allowing you to truly build a connection to the two feeling all the emotions that Karen writes so beautifully ( you may need a pack or two of tissues) you can see the chemistry between the two unfold between your eyes as you go deeper into the book.
Can the past be left in the past, will Emma trust in Daniel and learn to love and be loved?
5 beautiful stars.
I’m completely in love with Daniel #geeksrule & Emma is one kick ass heroine who does her best to overcome a life altering experience. The chemistry between the two leads is palpable from the start. Daniel wears his heart on his sleeve, none more so than at this moment:
“I want you so much, every single part of you – the light, the darkness, and the in-between.”
I went through a whole gamut of emotions during this book laughing, crying (a lot – both happy & sad!), smiling you name it I did it. Thank goodness I had one of my #bookbesties to message while reading it. Queue sappy grin at end:
“I believe in fairytales again.”
Ms Ferry I applaud you – what an amazing debut!! You’ve got a fan for life.
Now when is Suzy’s book out?.........
