Make It Happen is amazing! It is up there with Step Up for me, and it is definatly better than Step Up 2.
The story is a typical dance movie story, but is still good. I just thought that the dancing was so good! I read a review from a newspaper giving it a 1/5 because they thought the dancing was rubbish! I'd like to see them be better!
The acting was alright, and the music was great. I also thought that the dances in Ruby's club were creative, like with the umbrellas, the spinning circle etc.
Overall, an uplifting movie which makes you get out there and fight for your dream until you get it...

The best dance film ever- a mixture of Coyote Ugly, Save the Last dance and sliced with Step Up! A must have for inspiring dancers like me!
I wanted to just get up and bust a move right in the aisle of the cinema, luckily i didn't.
The music is very ghetto but I am down with that, it is just how i roll.
See if you like anything with dance in it.
and remember.... if you have a dreama dn a goal, don't let go of that dream or goal and maybe one day your dream and/or goal will come true
Love and peace, and keep on dancing
MOLLY Elizabeth

This sort of film isn't my usual cup of tea ... I bought the Blu-ray because Mary Winstead is in it.

It's a simple story of a young woman struggling to get ahead in life. She wants to become a professional dancer.

Ordinarily, I don't watch dance movies. And, in some respects, I found the film to be rather mundane. But as I find Winstead to be a good actress, as well as looking extremely sexy, my view of this film is more positive. She certainly elevates the movie, taking it to a higher level.

I'm sure there are many viewers who find this film to be good entertainment.

A brilliant and vibrant film full of fast dance and a few home truths, the moral of this tale is that sometimes you have to do what you need to,success is down to you and your hard work and dedication is what gets you there, the film tells you how a young girl has a dream and she goes off to obtain the dream that she has had since she was a young girl, there are many pit falls along the way and there are things that happen and get in the way but sometimes you have to push past adversity and this is what happened.
This is a great film and has plenty of dance mixed in,sometimes you shed a tear at the sadness but well worth the watch!

This seems to be a 'modern' remake of Flashdance, but lacking the pace and the style. Not a bad film though, and it's enjoyable as everything about it is done well (acting, photography, dancing), but lacks sparkle. Maybe because it's in the shadow of the original 'dancer wannabe' movie?

I first saw this at the pictures and enjoyed it so much that I bought it on DVD. It has the same story line girls wants to dance but has to do it another way because she can't get into the school of her dreams but the dancing is amazing and the acting isn't too bad either.

The films okay - but the Blu-ray from Optimum Entertainment (stretching credibility with that title) is a bare bones affair - no subtitles or extras
whatsoever. The image quality is mediocre at best for a film that's only eight years old. By the framing of the shots and the softness of much of the imagery, especially exteriors and longshots, along with the missing portions of peoples faces in the medium and some close-up shots; in one the lead actress turns away listening to someone off screen, and half her nose disappears out of the frame an yet her head only fills a third of the screen - I get the feeling this may have been a wide screen film that's been blown up for the home screen format - only a few intense close-ups and well lit scenes actually give the impression of what could have been a quality Blu-ray film. So just 3 stars from me but can't recommend the Blu-ray edition.

This tells the story of a small town girl who goes to audition for entry to a prestigious dance school in Chicago. She is rejected, on the grounds her style is not feminine enough. Unwilling to concede defeat, she applies for a job in Chicago, working as the book keeper at a burlesque night club. One night, when she thinks everyone has gone home, she dances on stage, but is spotted by the music director, who then persuades her to take on a dancing job. As her skills grow, she feels confident enough to take another shot at getting into the prestigious school she applied to.

This film is a pretty good dance flick, and has a very upbeat, varied soundtrack. The storyline of the small town girl trying to make it in the big city is an age old one, and thus has tremendous appeal. This is one for dance flick fans (e.g. Save the Last Dance, Step it Up), but might be a little shallow for non-dance flic fans.
