We've been reason this in advance of taking our son (aged 3) to the cinema for the first time.
I like the Maisy series, and the 'First Experiences' series is well constructed to show a youngster what to expect on various new situations, give space to talk with parents about it, feel comfortable and excited.
This is no exception. From choosing a film (here called 'movie') and buying a ticket (and snacks) to sitting in the dark, staying quiet and needing the toilet, it shows almost every aspect of what a cinema trip might be like, even seeing a really big screen for the first time. And with these familiar characters going through them, it seems much less daunting.
Very useful for helping parents talk to their children about new experiences with some old friends.
