My electrician has one of these and I was curious to know what it did. He uses it to test faults and to also double check if the power is off when working on a socket. Very handy as you may get power from a socket that is incorrectly and dangerously wired or faulty. Could be a life saver so well worth the small cost if you will ever find yourself working with sockets or just want to check them.

I also found it useful when moving house to check that the sockets were safe in my new home. Once I started to replace the plastic sockets for chrome ones, I used it again to double check for any wiring faults. It has a clearly understandable lighting arrangement on the front and audible tones. Highly recommended.

Does the job. Shame you can't select different audible tones so you could have a couple on different circuits to help find the right breaker. Other than that, does what I wanted it to do and cheaper than the rest.
