Two large DVD cases - in a nicely illustrated, but thin and tight fitting card slipcase.

The DVD cases are good quality. The eight series are spread over the 'book' style platters in the large cases. The DVDs are physically well made, clearly marked and nicely illustrated. There is one DVD per platter side and the DVDs are easy to access, insert and remove.

The quality is as good as I've come to expect from DVD versions of TV series of this age. I'm not an expert in these matters by any means - I watch either on a laptop PC or a budget 42" TV with DVD player - but, to me, the audio and video are fine (and far better than the usual standard definition TV broadcasts).

Back in the day, I had watched Magnum irregularly when it originally aired on TV, and liked it. More recently I'd noticed Magnum intermittently on TV bit the shows were riddled with advert breaks and of poor broadcast quality. Unfortunately, the Magnum DVDs were very expensive (£100+), so I waited until they dropped under £50 before buying them.

Watching thes DVDs, I had forgotten how many Magnum episodes there were. Eight series! But Its even better than I remember it, so the more the merrier.

This review is for The Complete Collection version released March 2016
This review is just to let other people know about the design of the packaging for this product. The show is a classic TV show, so nuff said on that. Unfortunately, on opening the collection, I found that instead of all eight seasons being in a standard 14mm dvd case with an outer sleeve or box, as are most of these type of collections from universal. This one has two over-sized dvd cases housing four seasons each. This is way too big in my opinion (other people may like this, however, I know when other reviews have helped me in the past before buying, I would like to do the same, as this item has yet to have any customer reviews or photo's posted to help with decision making, prior to purchase). On delivery I found one of the two large dvd case's was broken, the disc tray's inside had broken apart, as too many disc's are in the one case, making it too crowded and the spine was broken apart. Unfortunately, universal have manufactured a poor design for this item. I will be returning this as a result and purchasing these as individual items. Many other universal sets have been produced to a better design than chosen for this item, and it's a shame as I have other classic tv show's and the packaging was excellent. I don't understand why this was changed to a case housing far too many disc's in one over-sized dvd case. Hope this help's other's who are interested in this classic tv show, buy the individual season's if you don't like these BIG dvd cases.

It's 2016 and the new complete collection is just a rerelease of the earlier sets. Subtitles are available for series 1 & 2 only. Series 3-8 still come with no subtitles. The USA region 1 release came with subtitles for all 8 series so why didn't the UK region 2 release?

Bought for my wife who loves these. Each episode is preferred with its original air date, US I would expect. The picture is what you would expect from the 80's but fine. Ours is upscaled with 4K machine which brings out the colour. Every episode is present

One of the best live bands I've seen ever over the past 35yrs, and this recording catches the escence of everyone involved, guitarists, drummer, keyboard player and vocals, and lets not forget the sound and lighting engineers. The lighting is stunning. Its a superb recording all round, a feel good factor. So why is this not on DVD yet. Ive practically worn my VHS recording out, just as well I have a laser disc copy. A what I hear you say, Yip "Laser disc" that's right, so come on, Im sure this will transfer well onto DVD, or even better "Bluray" How long do we have to wait. As long as it takes, but lets not leave it too long, there's lots of Magnum fans out there, and this a superb recording.
