A small but well illustrated book on the history of the Magic Lantern and Lantern slides. An excellent & comprehensive introduction for anyone who is interested in pre- cinema history or the entertainment of the Victorian era. Unfortunately all the illustrations are in black & white, which detracts somewhat form the beauty of the slides themselves. However I thought it was very good value for money.

Excellent short book on magic lanterns written by an enthusiast with a great deal of knowledge about the subject, there is more information on his web site. I read this book last weekend and found it readable as well as informative. If you are at all interested in the subject, the price makes a decision easy.
