If you have not had the opportunity to read the Maggie McGill series by Sharon Toner, I sincerely encourage you to do so. They are delightfully "clean" and include a mother - daughter duo. For us moms and daughter's with good relationships, it causes one to fondly imagine such ongoing, compromising situations. For those who do not enjoy a close relationship or have no daughters, it still offers a great story to "dream" by.
In book number four, the scene is partly set on a small Island beyond the Florida keys. Maggie meets a wonderful British gentleman by accident. They seem to "hit it off" and she is able to help him with a problem. When her daughter, Allie, hears of this gentleman ad some conflicts, she flies out to Florida to visit her mother so she can decide for herself if this man is worthy of her mother's companionship...Little did she know she would encounter more disturbingly dangerous situations.
Is this new British suitor a "keeper"?
Unlike other previous stories, this one does not contain a "mystically mysterious" man...However, there is an element of mystery in some of the characters involved. As always, the characters are well-defined and seemingly real. the various scenes are portrayed well. The Title and Book Cover are well-"fitted"to the story.
Some of this tale was predictable - especially to "Maggie McGill" fans - but there are still some unexpected and surprising elements. It is just a pleasant relaxing read. If any are fans of Agatha Christie, these are better!
*I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review, of which I have given.
