Product Description

From the Back Cover

Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman's desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. The reality is we were made to crave. Craving isn't a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of him. Many of us have misplaced that craving by overindulging in physical pleasures instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. If you are struggling with unhealthy eating habits, you can break the 'I'll start again Monday' cycle, and start feeling good about yourself today. Learn to stop beating yourself up over the numbers on the scale. Discover that your weight loss struggle isn't a curse but rather a blessing in the making, and replace justifications that lead to diet failure with empowering go-to scripts that lead to victory. You can reach your healthy weight goal -- and grow closer to God in the process. This is not a how-to book. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This book is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose. This is a book and Bible study to help you find the 'want to' in making healthy lifestyle choices.

This book was just what I needed! I have read many self-help books about emotional eating, but they all left me feeling that something was missing. This book filled the gap. It has led me to a deeper understanding of how my spiritual life and emotions are connected. A definite must for those looking for this connection.

P.S. Read the devotional for 60 daily readings and thoughts to keep you on track, too

A really helpful book to get you thinking about bringing God into the equation of your eating. Loved the way Lysa was so honest in her delivery. Found some of her suggestions over food choices a little too hard line for me. Overall though this is a great book to help focus your attention on God fulfilling your needs rather than food. After all isn't that something about the truth of the first commandment! Oh and by the way have lost weight too!

I have read this book once and found it so good and challenging! It deals with our cravings and how we were created to crave God and allow Him to satisfy us. I am now doing a study with some friends on it to help us further!

If you like a challenge then read this book, especially if you are challenged daily with food coices and inner conflict. This book is written with humour and honesty by the author Lysa Terkeurst. This is a book to work with and achieve goals. The challenge is ..life is more than food and this book is very honest about that. I would highly recommend this read.

This book is amazing, its full of practical advise and encourages you to keep up the fight and not give in at the first obstacle. Its written by a real person not a plaster saint who understands the struggles of weight loss.

Poor eating choices and weight problems are part of a bigger battle.
I like the way Lysa shares her personal struggles with what The Bible has to say on the subject.
We are 'Made to Crave' God and when we take that into consideration nothing else will satisfy.
An enjoyable read, moving and helpful.

This book is very disappointing because it contains nothing new to any mature Christian woman. And what we already know is not even said in a different, or pleasing way. We all know that we need to be determined and pray in order to overcome "worldly desires" and that's about all this book says. Old, and too familiar, Bible quotes are trotted out with the most trivial of advice, all contained in a very light, almost banal, style. I have to say I wish I'd never bought it.
