Product description

Review

'Funnier, sadder and ruder than Adrian Mole, this will delight teenagers past and present' (Financial Times)

You wouldn't catch many people revealing their true teen thoughts. Hurray then for Rae Earl, who dug out her 1989 diary and published it in the raw. Hilarious and gut-wrenchingly familiar (In Style)

Very funny (Elle)

'Full of 80s nostalgia, this journal will make you laugh out loud' (Closer (four stars))

'Very funny - and sad' (Heat)

'Full of teenage logic, bad poetry and 80s nostalgia, Rae's frank and hilarious trip down memory lane stands out from the current surge of memoirs' (The London Paper)

This show actually is my mad fat diary. I have already pretty much lived this show, for real... Reminds you how rarely you see teenage girls on television doing anything other than looking sexy in short skirts, endlessly texting their friends about parties, or wailing "IT'S SO UNFAIR" when their parents won't buy them a car. (Caitlin Moran for The Times)

Book Description

If Adrian Mole had a sister ....
Hysterically funny, touching real-life teenage diary from 1989, now a major new E4 drama.

'My fat, mad teenage diary' was fantastic from start to end. Rae reminded me so much of my own teenage years (but Rae had a much better social life than I did). A book that everyone should read plus it encouraged me to buy a new copy of 'The Stone Roses' by The Stone Roses.

Teenagers it does get better! And us adults have all had our parents moaning at us about music during our teenage years (and some of the adult years).

I loved this book! I also loved the TV series E4 made based on this book. It is honest & funny and sad and reminded me what it was like to be 17!

This has been turned into a TV series which is entertaining. Reading the book enables a more serious study; there is a real depth to the diary which is well worth the effort. It should encourage anyone who doesn't quite see where they fit in this life.

This book (the real diaries of Rae Earl) kept me awake at night reading, they are so funny, yet sad and bittersweet. I really enjoyed reading this book.
