I've been playing on arcade cabinets for over 20 years and street fighter since there inception on the NES etc. I've had a fair few arcade sticks for various systems from the dreamcast to PS2.

This stick in my opinion is the best stick to date. It is an all sanwa denshi rig, obviously it is a square gate and not octagonal like US carcade cabinets. However, I've only played predominantly on square gates. Once you get the hang of it and mainly the feel of the stick, you'll be pulling off moves with your eyes closed with ease.

I know some veterans prefer an octaganol gate, but it's just a matter of getting use to the stick, the stick doesn't really require much movement and if anything it all boils down to practice.

The beauty of these sticks is that all the innards are interchangeable albeit the stick is not as straight forward but it can be done with a bit of time and patient. No welding etc needed, but I made a change on the stick from 4-way to 8-way square gate with a bat and it took me 30-45min, so it's not a 10min job as i had to becareful.

Overall, it's the best stick by far and well worth the price they are at now. A point I must note that I recently had a chance to play with the new Super Street fighter 4 TE sticks and this stick is the best one. The new stick has slightly sharper edges.

This round 2 edition in my opinion has a better colour scheme and better art. I wasn't to fond of the red and white, this predominantly black scheme is much more appealing to the eye.

Madcatz TE2 as a stick is a great choice. The best actually.

The buttons are sensitive and the stick reacts just perfectly to whatever you do.

However, my product came with defected stick. Amazon agreed to repair / send a new one if I were to send the stick to UK. Well, that would have cost ~50£ to me. A new stick alone (just the joystick part) costs 15£ and I got mine with free shipping. So I bought a new sanwa stick and assembled it to the body. I don't think this case scenario is that common, but I'll warn everyone anyways.

That was my first fighting stick so i cant really compare it with the rest. So far i m really happy with it and i think its worthy of its price. Only thing that someone needs to pay attention is that it has square gate which feels weird if you are moving from gamepad. Quarter half and half circle motions will feel weird and hard to execute at begining. Charge moves will feel really easy compared to gamepad. It does take some time to get used to but after some days it will be second nature. 5/5 from me.

In one line "The best arcade stick available on the market".
I researched quite a lot, and this is the best. I t is expensive, but within 20 minutes of getting this i was doing Ex-Dash cancel combos and what not!

Highly recommended if you want to enjoy the full arcade experience on-line that is the essence of Street Fighter!

I have been the proud owner of one of these bad boys for about a year now and can honestly say it is an awesome bit of kit. The build quality is outstanding. It feels great to use and has made a dramatic impact on my skill level in SSFIV:AE. It makes pulling of moves that much easier especially for charge characters like Blanka and M.Bison. Quarter turns are also very simple don't let the four way gate put you off. The price may look steep but this is top end, the best out there.

In summary....

Build quality 5/5

Feel 5/5

Value for money 5/5
